Pop 'n Cuts

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for taking the time to stop in today. I just looked at my  followers count and I am so close to 100. AWESOME!!!

Today I finished up on my stamp purge. I have gone thru a lot of stamps and have decided which ones I can get rid of. Hopefully these stamps will find a new home with someone who will use them. Most of the stamps I am selling off haven't been used for a while. So it's time to move them out.

On my last post I mentioned that I took a class from Karen Burniston, the licensed die designer from Sizzix. I want to share with you the 4 cards we made in the class.(I just finished the 4th card that we did in the class. After 4 hours, I was a little tired. I just had to color the embossed areas.) Let me show you that card first.

Here is the card closed.

And the card opened

(I just finished coloring the rug and the table lamp and the picture behind the chair.)
The rug and the items behind the chair are in embossing folders. So I just had to color those embossed images

This next card is just so festive

A cute birthday card, or maybe another event

I really love the papers shed chose to use on this card
This card is so unique on the inside

Here it is opened. Can you see the cool feature??? NO......

OK here is a closer view.
We used mirror paper and cut out the HELLO (and we cut it out backwards) so when you look at the mirror paper you see it correctly and can read it.  See the Hello is right under the stars.
AWESOME!!!

Last but mot least......

Opened

This class was so much fun and Karen really makes using the dies she's designed, so easy.
Well I ordered so many dies to start out with, I had to take out a loan. LOL

Well I know looking at the cards is not quite the same as being at the class but  I hope you enjoyed peeking in at the cards that I learned to make.

Hope you all have a great week and I will be back soon.

Get Well

Hi Everyone,
Happy Summer!!!! Well I have been busy giving my monthly classes and I also took time to actually take a class over at Scraps Etc.-KY. The class was so great. Karen Burniston was in town and she gave a fabulous class. We made 4 fantastic cards using her easy to use Sizzix dies that she has designed. I will be back in a few days to show you the cards we made.

In the meantime I have also been busy making a few cards for Sparkle N Sprinkle. I want to show you this one in particular.

I designed this card using lots of glitter and some embossing powder. The stamps are on the nicest set, called Swirls (set 497). Love this set

I decided to use glitter as a layering element and after I attached my two designer papers I added a border of 1/2" tape around all four edges of the card. I then covered the tape with glitter. Next I added a trellis piece and layered that on top of the DP.

I stamped the flower, heart and the butterfly using black ink. On the butterfly, I colored it using Spectrum Noir markers and then covered the image with glue and I covered the butterfly with Sparkling Snow glitter.
On the hearts I then traced the black swirls using a glue pen. I covered the glue with Meadow Spark Glitter.

The flower was covered in the center area of the image with VersaMark. Then I covered the VersaMark with  Shimmer EP, tapped off the excess and heat set it.(It's hard to see but its there. LOL)

All of the images were fussy cut and I used dimensional foam to mount the flowers and the hearts.

The sentiment was stamped in the same black ink and I used Spellbinders Labels Three to cut out the sentiment and the bordered piece under the sentiment.

Here is a review of what I used on this card:

Large Flower, Hearts, Butterfly and Get Well sentiment –Sparkle N Sprinkle stamp set 497Swirls
Adhesives: ¼" Tearific Tape- SAT01, 1/2"  Tearific Tape -SAT04, Brushable Glue - 540, Glue Pen - 053482384809
Spellbinders Labels Three S4-189 (2nd & 3rd smallest dies)
Inks: Memento–Black Tuxedo 712353259003, VersaMark -712353310018
Glitters: Meadow Spark G1014, Sparkling Snow G1003 from Sparkle N Sprinkle
Embossing Powder: Shimmer EP137 from Sparkle N Sprinkle
Other products used:
Cardstock: Designer Papers (DP) 3, White, Yellow, Mint Green
Dimensional foam
Alcohol Ink Markers
Swirl Die
Lattice Die

I am submitting this card in the following fabulous challenges:

For the next day or so I am purging. Simply Said Rubber Stamps in Loveland Ohio, is having a used stamp sale next Saturday and I am bound and determined to get rid of a lot of stuff (to make room for more). So if you are in the area, ya might want to check out her sale, I know there will be some great deals.

Well I hope you have a great week this week. I will be back soon.

Hope

Hi Everyone,
Hope you all have had a great weekend. I have been busy redoing some storage in my studio for my dies. and I am almost finished. After that project is done it will be time to go thru my stamps and get some ready for a used stamp sale at Simply Said Rubber Stamps. I have so many that I can get rid of,  it's going to be hard to sell them individually, so I am going to bag them up in lots to try to move the stamps that way.

Today I took some time to make a few cards for club. Last month we were given a small bag of goodies to use on a card (or cards) of our own design to be presented at this months meeting. The bag contained a small frame of stars made from white cs, two round things that are made by Scotch and are called ribbon, wire, string tie downs, two ribbon slides in a green turquoise colored cs and a small silver charm. OK,  here are the two cards that I came up with.

On this card, those strips of white stars that appear in a line shooting out from the large silver star were originally the rectangular frame shape. I just cut them apart and attached them behind that large silver star. I used a hand punch and a Spellbinders die and added silver stars in a few other sizes, and attached them to the dark blue cs. I then added a border made up of a layered light blue piece that is cut from another Spellbinders die and underneath that is a strip that comes from a MS punch around the page punch. Finally the sentiment is stamped on white cs, using Spellbinders Labels One and the silver piece behind that label is a Spellbinders Labels Two shape, cut from silver cs.This card is a 6.25" square cut from cream cs, with a light blue cs and dark blue cs panels that are mounted askew on the main card.

Below, my second card, uses the turquoise small round plastic pieces that are called a ribbon, string, wire tie downs.   That little round tie-down made me think of a flower center. Let me show you this card:

A few weeks or so ago, I saw some flowery looking embellishments on Desire Fourie's blog. Check these cool paper folded embellies here. She always has some awesome cards on her blog, check her blog here. I decided that those cute flower embellies made a great addition and I  felt they might work with the tie down items I had to work with.

(The embellishment below the feathers is made the same as those on the side of the card, however, the center is a faceted brad.)

The next item on this card, used from the bag of goodies, is the square ribbon slide, and  I positioned it between the two flower embellies. The last item I had to use is that small silver metal charm with the word Hope inscribed on it and  I positioned it to hang from the ribbon slide.

Those feathers are from a template that I happened upon online a while back. I love that I can color them any color and then cut them out and use them on any project.

Well hope you enjoyed my club challenge creations I made for my monthly club meeting.

Tulips from the Garden

Hi Everyone,
I know spring is just about officially over but I thought you'd enjoy some tulips from the garden. These tulips are in a newer set over at Sparkle N Sprinkle. Aren't they lonely!!! They're in set 491.

I used a 6"X 6" white card and embossed it using Spellbinders Embossing Folder – Flora EL-009.
I stamped the tulips on white cs and colored them with my Spectrum Noir markers. Next I fussy cut them out  and mounted them on a green mottled card stock cut with the Spellbinders Spellbinders Beaded Squares – S4-315. I also cut orange cs using the beaded squares die. I added glitters to the beaded shapes on the cut outs, and to some of the embossed areas on the card. Next I added a bow made by using the Craft-Dee BowZ tool.

Products used:
Tulips – Set 491 - Sparkle N Sprinkle
Spellbinders Beaded Squares – S4-315
Spellbinders Embossing Folder – Flora EL-009

Craft-Dee BowZ Blog Hop

Hi Everyone,
Welcome to the Craft-Dee BowZ blog hop. If you arrived here by way of  Dana's blog then you're in the right spot. If not, you will want to start at the Craft-Dee BowZ blog to be eligible for the prize to be awarded on Saturday.

The theme we have for this blog hop is Butterflies and Flowers and I have really stepped outside the box for this theme because I have used the Craft-Dee BowZ tool in making both my butterfly and my flowers.

My butterfly came about because I made a double looped bow one day and it reminded me of a butterfly without a body. So I made another and fashioned a body using gold filigreed beads. The antennae are just gold seed beads. To add and secure the body to the bow, I just slipped the wire under the knot, added the beads and that secured the body to the bow (wings). Here is the end result.

Here is a close up of the butterfly:

How did I come up with the flowers?? I really don't recall other than I was just playing around with the CDB tool and wound some wire around the pegs instead of the ribbon I usually work with. When I pulled the wire off the pegs and separated the loops, they started to look like petals on a flower and when I had all the loops moved around, the flower was born. I happened to have some brads that have a large colored rhinestone for the center and I felt that would look great as the center of the flower.

Here is a close up of those flowers:

Well that's the back story for my butterfly and the flowers that I used on my card. Hope this inspires you to try different things on your bow maker. The bow maker is a very versatile tool, it makes more that a bow and works well with things other than ribbon.

June is for Weddings

Hi Everyone,
June is considered the month for weddings. So I thought I'd make a card and combine a dress fit for the bride accented with a multi-loop bow. I used white cs and cream cs for a little contrast. And brides always have pearls don't they?? I added a pearl border to the label shape behind the bridal dress. Behind that is a little netting reminding me of the veil. That bow was made using the Craft-Dee BowZ tool (of course) and I used a sheer ribbon. I tried my hand at making a decorative pin. Just another little added touch to this card.

By the way, Craft-Dee BowZ is hosting their monthly challenge so you will want to click here to check it out. A Craft-Dee BowZ tool is awarded to one submitter each month. You could be the prize winner.

Stop back on Thursday, for the Craft-Dee BowZ blog hop. The theme is Butterflies and Flowers, and I have  something really cool to show you all. Hope to see you at the hop.

Well that is it for now. See you Thursday, maybe??

Scallop Circle and Bow

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick post. I hosted a M&T at Stamping Buddies yesterday and we made the cutest card using a few Sizzix dies. The ladies that stopped in loved this cute little card.I had a great time showing them how to make and assemble this.

I used:
circle scallop and bow die #657758
Sewing and Writing Set (scissors) - #657752
Decorative Vintage Set (flowers) - # 657751
Scalloped Circle Doily Set (embossing folder) - #657762

I used Core'dinations Whitewash CS - Love that stuff. Comes in a lot of cool colors.

These dies work great together and make a darling note card and it fits in a 5X5 envie.

Here is the card

Just a quick little card for a whatever occasion. This card took me less than 20 minutes to make.

Have a great Sunday. I'll be back Tuesday for my post for Craft-Dee BowZ, just think wedding, hope you stop back in. LOL

See ya then

Barbara

Craft-Dee BowZ Challenge

Hi Everyone,
I have 2 posts today, so if you are looking for the Sparkle N Sprinkle Creative Challenges post, click here.

Well it's June 1 and that means it time for the June challenges. The Craft-Dee BowZ challenge theme this month is Celebrate Summer. I love summer, but not the hot and humid weather we get around here.

I checked in  my stash to see what I had that might fit this theme and I spied a beautiful butterfly. I see these splendid creatures all summer long. So with that butterfly in mind, I remembered I just received a new embossing folder from Spellbinders. It's one of their new 3D-M-Bossibilities. I got Delightful Daisies( It is a really cool embossing folder. Lots of emboss and deboss on this.) Since this folder has a butterfly on it, I decided to use this for the background. I colored a lot of the vines and highlighted the daisies to add visual interest.

Let me show you how this card came out.

I used 2" wide sheer ribbon and made a single loop bow. Of course I used the Craft-Dee BowZ to make my bow and in less that a minute that bow was done and ready to put on this card.

Now that you know what the CDB June challenge theme is, I am hoping that you will get your creativity in gear and enter the challenge this month. You may be the winner of this Craft-Dee BowZ tool. You will love this tool, trust me.
Check out the challenge here.

Tuesday is my regular monthly post for Craft-Dee BowZ, so please stop back. I have a great card to show you. The theme on our posts at CDB this month is wedding, so that's a hint of what you will be seeing.

Thanks for stopping in today
