The birdhouse

Hi Everyone,
Today is the 5th Tuesday for this month. I usually post here at Craft-Dee BowZ on the 1st Tuesday but that date was April 1 and we post the the new challenge on beginning of the month. So since there were 5 Tuesdays this month, I decided to post on the 5th Tuesday which is today. Whew, did you follow me on that one. LOL

I decided on a darling birdhouse and bird for my card today.

Used my trusty Craft-Dee BowZ tool to make my double loop bow using my gray satin ribbon. I layered that on top of a piece of dotted ribbon that is wound like roses. It's probably hard to see because the bow is layered on top.

SUPPLIES USED ON MY PROJECT

Ink: Black Dye Ink

Next Tuesday I will be back with my regular (1st Tuesday of the month) Craft-Dee Bowz post. Stop back then for more bow inspiration. In the meantime, have you submitted a card to the Craft-Dee BowZ monthly challenge. If not, you still have time.We would love to see your entry.

The Tea Box

Hi Everyone,
Friday, I trotted off to Circleville, Ohio, outside of Columbus, Ohio, to take two classes from Terri Sproul. Terri is a gifted artist and hosts a free get together on most Tuesday evenings. Terri also has a FB group, All Things Terri Sproul, and it is available to join. Terri shares techniques and info on different products.

Terri  is in town from California, for the next couple of weeks visiting friends, going to a show and teaching classes. The classes I attended were held at the nicest store, Creative Chaos. Loved her store, lots of Graphic 45 and things to go with those fabulous papers and many other great stamps and "stuff". The store owner is Angela Beavers, what a great lady. Had a blast.

The first project I am sharing with you today is my fav, although I really like the 2nd one as well.

This project is a tea box, made using Graphic 45 papers from the Botanical Tea Collection. These papers are fantastic.

I wanted to make this box really sturdy and in doing so my back two corners got wonky, however, I just distressed the box as to make the whole box look really old and well used.Wait til I show you the inside.

The stripes are the backside of the paper I used. This box itself is made with just one 12X12 sheet from Graphic 45. The postage stamps and little cards are from a 2nd sheet in that line. Those are little tea bag covers inside the box. Aren't they cute!!

And the stamp images are so perfect to attach to the end of the tea bag string.

Thank you Terri for a great project, this class was so enjoyable!!

I am submitting this project to the following challenges:

I will be sharing the other project with you Thursday. In the meantime stop back Tuesday for my Craft-Dee BowZ post for April.

Have a great week!!

Just a Note

Hi Everyone,
Ahhhhh it's Friday, the end of the work week. Time to show the 3rd card from my April card class. This card turned out so cute, hope you like it!!

This typewriter just called to me so I had to use it in one of my card classes. I just happened upon some 12X12 scrapbook sheets that looked like they were typed and thought it would be perfect to use with the typewriter. Since the stamp just has the one sheet of typewriter paper in the image, I thought it would look great as if there were other sheets as well. So I made a template and cute two more sheets to look like the same as the sheet in the typewriter. I hand wrote the sentiment "Just a Note", but this stamp set comes with a few sentiments that will fit perfectly on the typewriter paper.I positioned the additional sheets as if they were flying out of the typewriter.

SUPPLIES USED ON MY PROJECT
Stamps:  Hero Arts - Typewriter Notes
Paper/Card Stock
: Red CS, White CS
Ink:Black Dye ink, Red dye Ink
Dies Used: None
Accessories: Distress Markers, Sponge Daubers

I am submitting this card in the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping in today and I will be seeing you soon.

Sending You Happy Thoughts

Happy Wednesday Everyone, and welcome back.

I want to show you the 2nd card I presented at my card class last Saturday.

This stamp is from Woodware and it's from their line of bubble stamps. They have about 8 different stamps in that bubble line. They are all really great with the circles in the image. Since I am drawn to circles I just fell in love with these. The flower was colored in and then the color was overlayed with the Wink of Stella to give some shimmer. Sorry it really isn't very visible on the picture. I taught everyone how to make a multi-loop bow for this card using the Craft-Dee BowZ tool and everyone's bows looked great! That tool is so easy to use.

SUPPLIES USED ON MY PROJECT
Stamps:  Woodware -  Bubble Bloom - Florence
Paper/Card Stock

Ink: Black Dye ink
Dies Used: Spellbinders Circles sm
Embossing Folder: Darice - Circles in Circles

Hi Everyone,
Well it was the third Saturday of the month this past Saturday, time for my regular card class,The Card Shop class at Simply Said Rubber Stamps.

Embossed the right half of the front of the card, added some gold leafing, layered a gold panel and some designer paper and tucked in a few greenery sprigs and wella!! a darling celebration card.

Water Coloring the Art Impressions Way

Hi Everyone,
Hope you are having a wonderful week. Here in the Greater Cincinnati area we've had 70 degree temps and 6/10" snow all within a few days time. Spring, please come and stay.

Last Saturday, I offered a a class at Simply Said Rubber Stamps, Water Color the Art Impressions Way. I had 8 in my class and we all had a great time.

I guided the ladies thru this easy technique, making 2 panels using 2 different stamp sets. We used stamps from Series 7 Set 1 on the 1st panel

Here is my class sample

After that panel was completed we moved on to a second panel using Series 7 Set 2

Here  the class sample for the 2nd project panel.

The foliage from set 1 is also used when using set 2. Also to achieve the water color effect, water color paper is a must, card stock will bow.. Also the ink you use to stamp must be a water based dye ink. Waterproof or permanent ink will not let the ink move and soften. We used Distress Inks, Marvy Inks and Adirondack Inks. Tombows are also a great marker to use. And you can use markers or pads just make sure the ink is water based. Alcohol inks, pigment, and Memento inks will not work. There are probably other markers and ink pads that can be added to either list.

This was a fun class and the ladies did a fantastic job on their "water coloring the Art Impressions Way."

If you have never tried this technique, don't hesitate. It is really easy and the end result is really nice.

This weekend is my regular card class at Simply Said Rubber Stamps. I will be sharing those cards with you starting Sunday.

Spring is coming slowly, but it must be on the back of a turtle. LOL

Have a great day

Monthly Club Cards

Hi Everyone,
Hope you had a great weekend. We've had quite a bit of rain here in my area this month and tomorrow it's supposed to be sunny and no rain. That's great news.

Tonight we had our monthly stamp club meeting and I want to share with you the two cards I made. We always have a challenge, where we have to make something with something we receive. The other card is designed around a theme.

Card #1
OK for my challenge card  I was given a sticker. It was about 3"X4" and the image showed a black cat in a bunch of purple flowers with writing at the bottom.

First I embossed the front of the card. Then I cut the bottom of the sticker off into separate the two areas, I mounted the top image onto a piece of CS that I cut from a gorgeous die and used celery green CS. I added a few shaped purple flowers flowers and I added FlowerSoft to the flower centers. Next I added the cut away piece back to the card under the flowers. After that I added some small branches among the flowers just to add more interest and lastly added a bow. I tied the bow onto the card using a thick purple woven ribbon. Bow made using the Craft-Dee BowZ tool.

Card #2
