Leave Room in your Garden

Hi there.
Hope you had a great week and now the weekend has started.Time for fun and time to get in your studio, to start being creative.

The other day, I started to work with a sentiment from Verses Rubber Stamps. As I read the sentiment,  I thought of a stamp set I had, that contained a fairy and some toad stools. It is a perfect match for the sentiment.

I know I mentioned that the sentiment is from Verses Rubber Stamps, but, have you checked out their online catalogue? They have so many stamps to choose from and they are all categorized, so it is easy to find what you are looking for.

Since our team is small it won't take too long to visit and comment on all the blogs.

In case you got lost along the way here are the team members

    Craft-Dee BowZ  (start here)
    Barbara Bruder (You are here)

The theme for this blog hop is Wedding but I decided to venture away from the traditional white card. I designed my card to be elegant yet I used the colors of the bridal party.

The lace that I used is hand crocheted and I have had it for 20+ years.
The blue piece that is threaded thru the lace, it's a strip of shimmer card stock

The flowers are all my handmade creations  from my stash. I use the Tim Holtz Die to cut out the shapes using pages from an old dictionary. I love print on flowers and got a steal on the dictionary at a resale shop.I create them ahead of time then they just wait to be used on a project.
The leaves....I used a Martha Stewart hand punch.

Here is a close up of the bow.
I used a cream satin ribbon and just tied a single loop bow. I added a flower over the knot.

Well I hope you saw something that inspired you for a card you might need to make in the future.
We loved having you drop by today.

Don't forget to comment on the individual designers blogs to be in the running for the giveaway

    You Just Never Know

    Hi Everyone

    Just a quick update today.

Well I received a sweet surprise and I had to make sure it wasn't a hoax before I shared this with you all. (LOL) I received an email late last week and here is a copy:

Hello! I just wanted to reach out to let you know that your project will be featured this week on The Graphics Fairy! Reader Feature days are Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday, so be on the lookout!

Thank you so much for taking the time to submit your project - I know the readers are going to love it!

    Congrats!
    Allyson - Reader Feature Editor

I  love The Graphic's Fairy. They have a fabulous selection of  digital images for just about any occasion. In May 2014, the designers over at Craft-Dee BowZ were asked to use images from The Graphics Fairy in all their Craft-Dee BowZ projects for the month.

I used an image of a fairy looking out of the center of a flower.Let me share the project with you.

I knew that the Graphics Fairy has a submission form and I decided to submit this project  as a reader project. So 13 months later I get this e-mail and what a fabulous surprise it was. Here is the link to my original blog post.

Here is a link to The Graphics Fairy home site

Here is the link to The Graphics Fairy readers feature spotlighting my card.

Well what a great way to start off my week.

Also I received notice that my challenge submission over at The Outlawz  was chosen last week as a Top Pick at their Twisted Thursday challenge. Click here to go to to my Challenge Blog Awards page for more info.

Thanks for stopping by today and I will be back soon with more projects I have been working on.
    Have a great week.

    Always and Forever

    Welcome Back friends,
Since it's the first Tuesday of the month, it's time for my regular monthly post for Craft-Dee BowZ. Yesterday I mentioned that the theme for June is wedding and here is another card creation I came up with.

I originally had a totally different look in mind but as I worked on it, it just didn't come together as I had envisioned. Have you ever had that problem?  I have part of that project done and now as I am writing this post I think I have come up with a better idea, at least better than what I had startedout doing. It's still in the wedding theme. I will share it as soon as I finish it.  OK back to this card.........................................

Hearts, swirls, lace and ribbons as well as creamy shimmery card stock and a designer paper from DCWV - The Luxury Stack. These are the elements I used to make this card.

The cream and celery colored card stock are so light it is hard to get any good shots of this card.

    A Wedding Card

Looking for the Mema's Crafts post? I have two posts for today, but if you scroll down you will find that the post for Mema's is right under this one. Thanks

    Hi Everyone,
Welcome to June!!! Five months down and we are about 3 weeks away from the official start of summer. This year is flying by for sure.

Well this month the Craft-Dee BowZ designers have been given a theme of - Wedding. So with that in mind, you will be seeing some really beautiful cards all depicting the wedding theme.

Here is a card I made with that that fits perfectly with the wedding theme. My card is pretty simple.

This card uses only two colors, white and silver. (This is a 6X6 square card.) First I  die cut a heart out of the white panel and embossed it with a swirl emboss folder. I then embossed a smaller vertical section of the white card panel with dots and on the larger portion of the panel I used a floral embossing folder.

Next I attached the square white panel over a silver panel. I added a fluffy multi loop bow  and attached this panel to the front of the card. Next using dimensional foam, I attached the heart in an offset manner over the spot where the heart was cut from and added silver flat back pearls. This is a quick and easy card to make, great for those last minute times when you need a card.

The Craft-Dee BowZ tool is the tool that makes bow making a cinch. If you are bow making challenged then this is the tool for you. Easy to use instructions included and plenty of video's to walk you thru if you are a visual learner, and those videos have other bow making instructions besides the basic single looped bow.

I am submitting this card in the following challenges:

  • Amusing - W, 2E, no digi -  Anything Goes  (#20)
  • Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - #10 Anything Goes  (#164)
  • The Corrosive Challenges -  #225 Anything Goes  (#146)
  • Jo's Scrap Shack - W, 3E  - No.90 -  Anything Goes (#81)
  • Polkadoodles -  No.20 - (W2 of 2) Girly, but no Pink (#83)
  • Simply Papercraft - 2W, E3 - No. 5 (W2 of 2) - Anything Goes(#201)
  • Sister Act Card Challenge - No. 108  - Always Anything Goes (Cards only) (#182)

  • I will be back tomorrow with another wedding themed card. Hope you stop back for more inspiration.

    Have a great day
