Merry Christmas

Hi Everyone

Holy Cow!! It's the 5th Tuesday of the month and this is my last post for this year for Craft-Dee BowZ. Even though Christmas is over I have one last Christmas card to share with you. This card has already been given,so I won't be revealing any surprises.

 Here is the card, closed

And here is the card opened

My bow was made using the Craft-Dee BowZ bow making tool. I had a length shorter than I usually use so I made a triple loop bow. I felt it needed to be a little fuller so since I had some scraps left over in my scrap bag, I made two single loop bows and layered them one on top of the triple loop bow to obtain a really fluffy bow. And I was able to still use up some odd lengths of green ribbon in my stash.

Here is a closer view

Here is another close-up view

All the ribbons I used are the same color however there are two different widths. But since these ribbons are all the same color, the bows all meld together and it is very hard to see that there are actually 3 different bows all tied together.

Time to get out some of those smaller ribbon pieces in your stash,
make a few bows and attach them together to make a nice fluffy bow.

The Craft-Dee BowZ tool makes bow making a breeze.
If Santa forgot to bring you one, you can order yours here

The card design I used is very unique, I have no idea as to the name of this design. But, it is easy to make (IMHO) and will stand on its own even though there is no back to it, like on a conventional card.

I love this card design.

I plan on making another card with lots of pics and dimensions so you can make one yourself.
I think I will use a winter design since we are officially in the winter season. So stay tuned for another card design like this one showing up sometime in January.

I am submitting my card in the following challenges:

As this year winds down and comes to an end, I would like to take a few minutes to wish you all a Happy New Year. I look forward to seeing you in 2016 with more inspiration and fun projects.

Believe - New Challenge at Crafty Creations Challenges

    Hi Everyone,

Thanks for stopping by today. It's time to share my latest project for Crafty Creations Challenges.

Challenge #304 with a theme of Happy Holiday, starts today, will run for two weeks and the theme is Happy Holiday.
The sponsor for this challenge is A Creative Need.

    Check them out here

They have a wonderful selection of digital images.

You know Santa is waiting for his special nite to make his appearance. And while we all await his appearance, I decided to showcase his hat on my card.
His hat is definitely identifiable with the jolly man

I chose to add some dimension to the furry brim and the ball on the on this darling image

Here is a closer view of the hat, Hope you can see that dimension better.

I used a product called as Snow Marker by Marvy Uchida. This product is applied like a marker. Its goes on in a  milky white color. After applied, heat it with your heat tool, and it will puff right up. Makes great snow or any puffy dimensional accent.

    Gail
    Tracey
    Barbara, (You are here)

I know the designers have presented incredible and oh so creative projects. I am the last designer on the DT rotation for the blog hop so let me share my project with you. I decided to make a card and a decorated gift bag, both of which are coordinated.

    First - my card.

    Close-up of bow on card

    Next - My Bag Topper

For the bag topper, I started with a bag topper shape (scalloped oval) and I added a beautiful teal colored silk flower and a floral pick in the same teal color. And of course since this is to adorn a gift bag, a bow was added to add to the festive look.

Here is my gift bag adorned with the bag topper

Close-up of the bow on the bag topper

I made my card panel and the bag topper base using watercolor paper that has Color Burst applied to add the awesome colors. Here is a peek at the piece that I have left over. This will give you an idea of what I used for the card and bag topper base.

I love the colors that the Color Burst gave me in the watercolor paper. I also used a fern stencil to get that green leafy image.

All of my bows were made using the Craft-Dee BowZ tool. This tool is the easiest to use tool for all your bow making needs.

    Wishing You The Merriest

    Hi Everyone
WOW do you believe it, we are now welcoming in December!!!. And next it's Christmas - are you ready? Do you have your cards finished?? no!!??!! Well Craft-Dee BowZ is here to offer inspiration

Since it's the first of December, there is a new challenge over at Craft-Dee BowZ. And the challenges over at CDB are always Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow. But since we are in the Christmas season, there are a whole host of Christmas projects that the designers are anxious to show off. We hope you will visit the Craft-Dee BowZ blog every Tuesday for some new design team inspiration .....and....we'd love to see your entry this month in the challenge.

Speaking of projects, let me share mine with you.

This is a 6"X 6" card and it's one of my favorite sizes for cards.

For this card, I layered CS bottom to top - Red CS, Green CS and DP. Next, I used 2 panels of cardboard, one of which I cut with the Holly Frame die. I pulled some of the top layer off the corrugated cardboard panels. Next I painted both  panels with white gesso. After the gesso dried, I used the Rhubarb Stalk Memento ink to cover the raised areas and left the depressed areas white.

I adhered these 2 panels over the DP. I cut an oval and stamped the sentiment and inked the edges. I made my bow and attached it to the card. Then I made 3 poinsettias using a white shimmery text weight paper and added Flower Soft to the centers. I attached some of the stars to finish the card.

Here is a close-up of the bow.
I actually made a 4 loop green sheer bow and layered it on top of a triple loop white ribbon bow.

I wanted my green bow to pop and layering it on the white ribbon, made it POP. (IMHO)
