A Friend is someone

Hello Blog Friends

I am so surprised it's already mid-summer (as always, the time is slipping by). The flowers are blooming and it's been really warm in my area.

And in this heat, the weeds are growing, too. You know, when it's snowing, those darned weeds still grow at least in my yard they do. What a battle they pose. I guess it could be worse, we could have no flowers or any vegetation at all. OK, that might be called the desert and I'm not sure I would like that. LOL

Well since we're talking about flowers, I thought I'd share with you a card I made for Lil Patch Of Crafty Friends. Their newest challenge (challenge #62) starts today and will go on til Fri, July 14. You have plenty of time to submit an entry and the theme is always Anything Goes. And the sponsor for the challenge is Bugaboo.

Here is my card

Love this sentiment and the doodled flowers are so pretty

This image was so much fun to color
and I decided to pop those larger blooms up just to add some dimension.

The DP behind the image is really a piece of my Gelli Plate artwork. I made a bunch of these a while back and have them ready when the right project needs a background. I have loads in all color combos just waiting for the perfect project.

My bow is a simple bow - loops that are stair-stepped and a piece of ribbon wrapping around the center, for the knot. I used grosgrain and it was perfect for this card.
Grosgrain usually is too thick to make a traditional bow,
but it worked great for this type of a bow on my card.
I wanted a skinny bow on the side of the card and thought this ribbon as the perfect size.

SUPPLIES I USED ON MY PROJECT
Stamps:  digital - Bugaboo - Friend Flower Doodles

I hope you liked my project. Don't forget to link a project in the current challenge at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends. And the theme is always Anything Goes. Thanks so much for stopping by today and I’ll see you soon!

Freedom

Happy 4th to all.

Today is a great holiday for our country.

Independence Day, also referred to as the Fourth of July or July Fourth, commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence 241 years ago on July 4, 1776. The Continental Congress declared that the thirteen American colonies regarded themselves as a new nation, the United States of America, and were no longer part of the British Empire. The Congress actually voted to declare independence two days earlier, on July 2.

In light of that, and since my post falls on this holiday,
I decided to make a card that is the expression of this holiday

I think this card really speaks for itself, don't you?

A few weeks ago when I was making this card, I had no word/sentiment on the front. But as I was writing this post, the word "Freedom" kept popping into my mind. As I looked at the card again, I felt it needed that word on the front of the card. so I added it and I feel it finishes the card.

Here is a close-up of the bow!!
Donna sent me this ribbon and it's perfect for this card
and really speaks to the whole patriotic theme.
My bow.....it was made using the Craft-Dee BowZ bow maker tool.
It's the tool makes bow making sooooo easy.

You will love making bows if you use this tool.

Smile

Welcome to July,

Boy o' boy, the months are clicking by aren't they??

Bugaboo is back as the sponsor over at Craft-Dee BowZ this month,
so I chose a cute bird image - Bugbird01

I thought he needed some feathers so I added some purple ones to give him a little flair. This cutie is sitting on a branch so I added more leaves and some pink felt flowers.

My Bow - well I used the great bow making tool from Craft-Dee BowZ and I used some seam binding to fashion a bow. This bow was made by stacking two double loop bows It makes a great looking full bow. Here is a closer view

That bow was made using this great tool
