I Heart You

Hello everyone
Welcome to my blog and do you believe it's the last Saturday of the month.

A few weeks ago I showed a card showcasing some crocheted heart lace. If you missed that post, you can check it out here. Well, I had some of that pretty pink crocheted lace left over and decided to make another card.

So here is another card for your viewing pleasure. I know I know, Valentines Day is over, but this card would make a great sweet birthday card or an I Love You card.

I was wondering what this card would look like, I first thought of a Tic-Tac-Toe design, however, I settled on a 4 corner design because the center was the perfect spot for my bow.

Let me share this card with you

I love the look of the warm pink and red along with the cool silver. This is a 6X6 card and I really like this size. It gives you a nice sized pallet to work with. As I assembled this card I placed the hearts in the corners and decided the bow would look great in the center of the card. That left a spot at the top center that turned out to be perfect for the sentiment.

The bow - This started out as a triple loop bow and that ribbon is a sheer (my fav) with a satin border. I had a small pink bow with stars, already made and sitting, waiting to be added to a card. This fit perfectly in the center of the main bow. So after stacking the bows together, I attached the bow to the center of the card. I fastened it to a ribbon I had stretched across the front of the card. I used my CDB tool to make both bows.

The Craft-Dee BowZ tool is small, portable, easy to store, easy to transport, easy to use. Are you more of a visual learner?? Me too. There are videos on YouTube that will walk you through the steps to make bows.
You can order one on the Craft-Dee BowZ blog here.

Believe it or not, I still have 1 more heart from that strip of crocheted hearts. So you may see one more card with that last heart I have.

Birthday Cake

Welcome to Wednesday!!!
                         Happy Valentines Day!!!

Today over at Crafty Creations Challenges is the start of challenge #360.

The theme is always Anything Goes
The  sponsor is Bugaboo

The prize is 4 digital images.
Hope you join in the fun and submit a project
You could be the next winner

I picked this image to use for this post before I realized it would go live on Valentine's Day

But since we all have many celebrations throughout the year
this is a perfect image for celebrations in general.

Since the digital image had a balloon on it I decided to add additional die cut balloons.

Usually, I try my best to eliminate any glare on the card but this pic shows the
Nuvo Crystal Glaze I used on the balloon, the red dots, and the green icing in the digital image.

This is such a fun image and I love it.
It's perfect  for a birthday, anniversary, graduation or any other celebration

Hello

Hello everyone
I thought I'd pop in and share a new card with you. This month at Craft-Dee BowZ the sponsor is Bugaboo.  I saw this teacup with the flowers in it and had to have it!!! (Teacup Flowers 2)

The teacup image was a Friday freebie at Bugaboo back in November and I thought it was adorable

I got an idea for this card based on a card I saw a while back.

It was a stack of teacups with flowers in the top cup.

Here is how I achieved this look:
  • I printed out a teacup with the flowers.
  • for the other 3 teacups, I cut away the flowers and reversed the image and cut those out as well.
  • Next, I stacked the empty cups and added the teacup with flowers to the top spot.
  • Colored the flowers with Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers and attached them to an oval shape cut from a die.
  • Used some pumpkin colored paper with white dots as the background.
  • I added a fluffy bow and a die cut hello and the card was finished.

Here is a closer view of my bow on the card.

I used sheer ribbon. IMHO it's the best ribbon to use to make a bow.
I used my Craft-Dee DowZ tool to make this bow and it's a triple loop bow.

Happy Birthday

Hi everyone.

I'm back with a new card. This card is perfect for Valentine's Day or a birthday or some other occasion you might think of, depending on the sentiment you use.

I decided on a birthday theme since a good friend had a birthday coming up and I decided this card would be a great card to give her.

My card came to be because of some heart lace that was sent to me.

I worked on this card from the inside to the outside.

I started with a 6"X6" card base in light pink.
Next, on top of the pink base I added a white panel  5 3/4" X 5 3/4"

(This becomes the inside of the card on the right side,
because there will be a panel that covers the right side
and that smaller panel becomes the front of the card.)

The next step was to place 3 hearts on the left side of the card.
(These hearts came connected as you are seeing them on the card.)

Next, I cut a white panel 7" X 3" and scored at the 6" mark.
I used a corner punch on the 4 corners of this piece.
This will become the front of the card.
It's a 1/2 of a front because I wanted the hearts to always be seen
whether the card was closed or open.

I decided to use some old dies and layered them up on that small piece that will be the card front.
Those layered die cutouts turned out to the perfect spot to place my bow.
The panel piece on the right (it's the piece that holds the die cuts and the bow)
 opens to reveal the sentiment
Next, I attached that card front panel to the card base.

That right side panel piece has the fold at the top so it opens from the bottom up,
to reveal that sentiment.
Here is a close-up front view of the right side

My bow was made using the Craft-Dee BowZ tool and I think it's the best bow maker on the market.
(To order, click the link above and the ordering spot is on the left sidebar.)

I used Hug Snug (seam binding) and sprayed it wtih some shimmer spray
to get just the right pink color.
After I made the bow, I added some small flowers to add more interest to the card front.

Here is the card opened up revealing the sentiment on the inside.
I layered a pink piece of CS piece and another die cut using white CS on the right side of the card, right next to the lace hearts. Stamping the sentiment on the die cut was a perfect spot.
Because when that front panel closes it hides the sentiment

My design is a little different but I love how the hearts are always on display whether the card is closed or open.

Hope you are inspired to make a card that is just a little different.
