Just For You

Hello,

Back today with a card that can be used for a birthday or really for any reason.

I used a butterfly border punch and some stamped images from Heartfelt Creations butterfly collection.  I chose a medium size butterfly out of the collection. I stamped the butterfly on a glossy cardstock that I had used alcohol inks on. Got this peachy color but I really was trying to get a color with more orange but I got tired of fiddling with the alcohol inks, so I decided to go ahead and use this peachy color.

I think I will use this card as a birthday card for a friend whose birthday is coming up this week.

You know, spring will begin this month and butterflies remind me of warmer weather so I decided to use this butterfly as the focal point plus it really goes great with the punched border/frame I made on the white CS.

Hopefully the weather will calm down and go back to being normal and spring will be warm and uneventful. One can hope.

I am submitting this card in the following challenges:

Hope this inspired you to make a spring themed card.

Thanks for stopping in today.

I will be back soon

Love To Scrap Challenge - March & April

Hi there!!! Thanks for stopping in today.

The Love to Scrap Challenge has started and will continue til April 12. So you have about a month and a half to join in and submit your project!!

I have an oldie but goodie technique to share with you today using some of my scraps. Since I have boatloads of scrap paper, I decided to dust off this technique called Iris Folding. This technique uses paper (NOT CARD STOCK) I used 4 different paper designs. I used 12 " long paper and cut it 1" wide. You can use shorter strips but you will need more strips of the designs. You fold the strips down the center on the long side. You lay down the strips over the pattern and tape them down and in about 5 minutes your design is done. Easy to do and is goes pretty quick. I chose to use a very simple circle pattern, but there are many designs out there and books are still available with many cute designs as well. This technique was popular in the early 2000's

I used an embossing folder to add a design to the white CS and added a circle frame to accent the Iris Fold design itself. The peel off corner stickers and the sentiment finish this card off and it's ready to mail.

Don't forget, this challenge runs til April 12 .You can check out the other designers cards, read the guidelines and enter your project here. I'd love to see  your entry.

Hope you enjoyed this oldie but goodie called Iris Folding
Thanks for stopping in and I hope to see you soon

Merry Little Christmas Challenge - March & April

The Merry Little Christmas Challenge has started for the March & April timeframe. Let me share my card with you

I know most everyone loves Christmas and I seem to gravitate toward flowers.  I cut 3 square frames using dark green CS. Next I layered some glittery paper for added interest on those squares. After layering them I threaded a CS strip thru the openings in the squares. That stip is layered with dk green CS as well and just to finish it off I used some glitter dots on that green CS.

Get a head start on Christmas and make a project, Christmas themed of course and enter it in the Merry Little Christmas Challenge. THe challenge runs thru April 15 so you have some time to get your entry in. Check out the other DT projects,  read the guidelines and enter your creation here.

I'm looking forward to seeing your entry!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Birthstone Challenge - March & April

Hello and welcome to March. This is the start of the Birthstone Challenge for March and April. The featured birthstones are:

I chose Aquamarine and here is the card I designed

I added texture using 2 different embossing folders and I stenceled the fromt layer. Added stamped flowers  and a sentiment. The flowers and the stencel were in a magazine and thought I'd use them on this card. I added a little glitter in the flower centers and this is ready to mail out.

Get out some Aquamarine colored CS, design a card and enter it in the latest Birthstone Challenge. You can read the guidlines and check out other entries and enter your card here. I am looking forward to seeing what you have made.

Make sure to check out the 2 other posts I have made for today.
Thanks for stopping by today.
