Baby

Hello all !!!

Boy I have been side tracked for a while and thought I'd hop in and share a card I made last nite.

I need to make a few baby boy and girl cards and a baby book. Working on an order for a friend and need to get started on my class stuff for my Stampaway classes. Stampaway will be here in the blink of an eye. So many things to do, so little time.

OK let me share a baby card I finished tonite.

Used some old DP, pink CS and some die cuts from Impression Obsession - Circle Baby Cutout set. My card is a 5X7 and those pink strips are 1/4" wide

Hope this is a design that you might want to try, it's easy and you can use scraps, I did.

I will be submitting this to the following challenges:

Hope I have inspired you. This is a fun and easy card to make.

Have a wonderful rest of your week.

See ya soon

Hello Spring

Hello Everyone

I think I'm on a flower roll. (LOL)
I made  this card for my club meeting that took place Tuesday evening.  We were given a 12X12 piece of DP and we were challenged to use some of it in a project.

So after looking at that DP for 3 weeks I finally decided what I wanted to do. I cut a strip off and added it on the left side of my 5X7 card base. Then I spied those round flowers on that strip and it reminded me of  a stamp from years ago that was a circle with a spiral within the circle. You cut along the spiral and then using a quilling tool turn the paper. Let the paper relax and there you have flowers. I used yellow CS and added some green ink to the edges of my flowers. The sentiment was also on that 12X12 paper.

Here is the 12X12 we were to use for the challenge project

I love the challenge project each month. We are given something to use for the next months challenge project and there are times that it really is a challenge, at least for me it is. LOL. We generally all make cards. Sometimes I have to look at the challenge stuff we are given for a while til the idea pops in my brain.

I am submitting my card in the following challenges:

Hope this card gives you ideas.

Thanks for stopping by. I will be back soon

Thinking of You

May flowers are in bloom.......
Boy, Calla Lilies are a treat to the eyes, aren't they??

I made this card using the Heartfelt Creations stamps and dies for the Calla Lilies

I used a stencil to make the background. And since I was working with boxes that day, I decided to mount the flowers on some corrugated box scraps.

Those Lilies are really easy to make and I think they make a beautiful presence.

Thanks for stopping by today. See ya soon.

Thinking of You

Welcome back and welcome to a new month!!!

May is here and hopefully we will have warm weather that stays. May, how did it get here so fast!!!??!

Today, May 1, also welcomes in a new blog challenge over at Love To Scrap Challenge

The Love To Scrap Challenge is a scrapping challenge blog and all types of scrapped projects are welcomed - cards, scrapbook layouts, ATCs, mixed media, altered items, 3-D projects, etc. - using bits of new or leftover stuff.

There are six challenges per year, and each challenge lasts approximately six weeks. All challenges are family-friendly Anything Goes. The challenges go live at 4:00 AM Mountain Time on the 1st day of each odd month and run until 4:00 PM Mountain Time on the 15th day of the following month

Well, as a stamper, I never seem to be able to throw away paper. So I have many saved scraps and this is the perfect challenge blog for me, (LOL) If you save scraps then this is the perfect challenge blog for you as well. The things I save are also things I try out to see if I am going to like it, is it too difficult etc. So a lot of times I will try it on white CS before I use colored cardstock for a project. And of course I save those trial and error pieces. Heaven forbid I would waste any paper (LOL).

On todays project I worked with some border punches (a while back) and pulled out my saved pieces to see if I could use one. Found one that worked and here is the end result.  BTW, This is a 6X6 card

The white CS layer that looks like a doily, I made that using a square piece of CS  and a border punch. I added some scrap patterned paper to the 4 corners. The center is also a square and I happened to have a stamp that fit in that blank space. I added a piece of dark green CS as a layer and mounted it in the center, added sentiment and this was a card that was finished. This border technique using a border punch will work with a rectangle shape as well (like for a 5X7 base card)

I love it when I can use some of those precious pieces of card stock that I just didn't have the heart to throw away. LOL

Here is what I used to make my card:

  • Dark Green CS
  • White  CS
  • Yellow CS and bits of yellow DP
  • MS Crochet border punch
  • Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers
  • Stamped sentiment Tim Holtz Stamper Anonymous - Simple Sayings
  • Stamped image - Penny Black - Garden Letter
  • Black ink - VersaFine Clair - Nocturne
I am entering my card in the following challenges:

So OK, get your scraps out and use some to make a really cool and unique card and submit it at the Love To Scrap Challenge. I'd love to see what you come up with.

Thanks for stopping by and I will see you soon.

Little Town of Bethlehem

Hello and welcome to May 1...... Phew, another Month has clicked on by!!!

Its the start of a new week, a new month  and a new challenge over at the Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog. The challenge runs May 1 thru June 15. Plenty of time for you to make a Christmas card and get it submitted it to the challenge.

I love Christmas and making cards for that season is really a joy, especially if you are not in a rush. So,  the more Christmas cards I make now, the fewer I will need to make at Christmastime. (LOL)

If you are like me I'm sure you have some Christmas stamps that are in your favorite category!!

The card I am sharing today is made with a stamp that I dearly love, it's in that favorite category of mine.

Let me show it:

This stamp was designed to be used on a slimline card and it is so beautiful and I think it's kind of elegant. I fell in love with it as soon as I spied it.

In making the card, I stamped it in black ink on white CS and just used a small blending brush to add a brown color. I know brown is not a Christmas color, but as looked at this scene, those gentle archs and the dots reminded me of sand and that's why I used a brown color. I used a gentile hand in applying that brown ink. After I colored the scene, I layered that white CS on a dark green layer and then that was layered on a gold CS  layer and all the layers were added to the main white card.

This is another card that is somewhat quick and perfect if you need to send quite a few cards and you want to only use one design,

Here is what I used to make my card:

  • Brown Ink - Distress Oxide Vintage Photo
  • Black Ink - VersaFine Clair - Nocturne
  • White CS
  • Dark Green CS
  • Gold CS
  • Stamp - Rejoice - Woodware
  • Blending Brush
I am submitting my card in the following challenges:

Hope my card gave you some inspiration for your Christmas cards. I would love to see one of your cards in the challenge. Thanks much for stopping by, see ya soon.

Thanks

Hello Everyone and welcome to May!!!

I can't believe we've gone thru 4 months already, 1/3 of the year is already gone, scary how time flies (LOL).

Yep today is May 1 and it's also the start of the Birthstone Challenge

The featured birthstone colors for this challenge are Emerald & Pearl colors. The theme is always anything goes with the featured birthstone colors, and you may use one or both of these colors in your project. Just remember, the color(s) you choose should be prominent on your project.

The challenge runs May 1 thru June 15

I used an emerald color CS as my main color and what appears to be the white CS is actually pearl CS.  This card design I chose to use is an arrow fold design and I used some unique flower design dies by John Next Door.
I added some definition to the CS on the sides of the arrow fold by embossing that CS.
I added an emerald colored glitter to the flower centers just to add some pizzazz.

The card is actually a 6X6 size, which is one of my fav card sizes. I added the sentiment and the card is complete.

Here is what I used to make my card:

  • Emerald Green CS
  • Pearl CS
  • Darice Embossing Folder (Old)
  • Lattice Leaves Dies - John Next Door
  • Lattice Flowers Dies - John Next Door
  • Stamped sentiment
I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Hope you enjoyed my arrow fold card and would love to see your card in the challenge. Thanks much for stopping by see ya soon.
