Merry Christmas

Welcome back.

It's May 1 and time for the next Merry Little Christmas challenge.

I would love to see your Christmas creation entered in the challenge. The challenge runs May 1 - June 15 so, you have plenty of time to send your project in. I'd love to see it.

Poinsettias are a holiday favorite, I think. So with that in mind, I decided to make a card highlighting the beloved poinsettia.

I used the poinsettia stamp and die set and the Holly Berry Spray stamp and die set from Heartfelt Creations.

I started with a card base of red (5" X 7"). Next I used a green layer of CS a quarter of an inch smaller. Before attaching I used a corner punch on the top left and bottom right. I then attached the green CS layer.  Lastly I took a white CS piece and placed a tick mark at the center of each of the 4 sides. Next I cut from the top tick mark to the tick mark on the left side. Then I cut from the tick mark on the right side to the bottom tick mark. I discarded the triangles I had just cut off and I used the white piece that was left.

I positioned that white layer and attached it. I then positioned the poinsettias and the holly berry sprays added some glitter. I also used gold flat backed pearls in the center of the poinsettias.

My sentiment is from an old clear stamp set from docrafts. (I believe it came in a magazine.)

Here is my project

Hello Everyone

Hope you are doing well. Since we are at the beginning of May, it's time for the start of the next challenge over at Love To Scrap. Boy the months are flying by aren't they!!!

The Love To Scrap challenge runs from May 1 - June15. So you have plenty of time to create a project and enter it. I'd love to see what your project looks like. Love to Scrap is a scrapping challenge blog welcoming all types of scrapped projects - cards, scrapbook layouts, ATCs, mixed media, altered items, 3-D projects, etc. - using bits of leftover items in your stash or new stuff!

Let me share with you the project I made for this challenge.

I used a few scraps on this card. You don't have to use scraps, but since its really hard for me to ditch paper, my scrap drawers are filled to the brims. hahaha.(Bet yours are too)

My card is 5"X7" (the size I usually use)

I cut a heart out on the front of the card. I positioned the heart on its side for a different look. (Saved the hear for another project)

Next I used white glossy CS and applied alcohol ink covering the whole glossy sheet. (4 3/4"X 6 1/4"). I added silver mixative to add some additional interest. I attached the colored glossy sheet on the inside of the card front. The heart shape now shows that alcohol inked shape

Next I used some flowers - Hollyhock dies were used. I lightly dabbed ink onto the flowers. Next I cut and colored a leafy Branch die . The fence is Picket Fence from Poppy Stamps. I used the grass die from the Outdoor Edges to make the grass.

I glued the leaves and the flowers to the front of the card by the point of the heart.

Next I positioned the fence over the flowers and put 1 flower sprig in front of the fence. The fence is nestled between 2 slayers of grass.

Adding the sentiment finished the card.
