More Autumn Inspiration

Hello everyone,

I looked at my Sparkle N Sprinkle stamps last night and decided to make another card for you. The set I chose has so many great possibilities. The stamp I used is 1650-316M from set 316. I decided to use the diamond shape and stamped & then embossed the image with Bronze Rose EP. The swirls are in the Fanciful Holidays set from Spellbinders

(S4-287).  I glittered the swirls with G1013 Autumn Medley from Sparkle N Sprinkle. I love these warm fall colors. They really compliment each other, don't you think.

The next time you need to make a card, don't eliminate a stamp just because it seems like it was designed for a season different  that the one you are in. The color index for the stamps in this set suggest spring or summer, but this stamp looks great with the fall colors I used.

Less than 2 weeks and we will be handing out Halloween candy. Hope it's warm and dry for the kids.

Here are the cards I designed for the blog hop.

Card #1

The panel behind the birds uses paintable wallpaper. I alcohol inked that square panel and then used a Versamark pen and applied the ink to those raised areas surrounding that panel, and applied Bronze Rose embossing powder and heat set. The chickadees were stamped in brown dye ink and colored with Copic markers and mounted over the wallpaper. I made those panels behind the dark brown cardstock using Color Wash on watercolor paper, and just mounted them on the front of the 6X6 card.

Card #2

Look at this scarecrow, out in the field in the moonlit night. That's a full moon rising in the background. I love this scarecrow, he has so much character doesn't he?? I masked off the moon, then I brayered the blue night sky and the green field onto the cardstock. Next I added Glisten embossing powder to the moon to set it off more.  I added the fence and the glistened pumpkins using dimensional foam. Lastly added that cute scarecrow and the sentiment and here is your 2nd card.

October is Breast Cancer Month

Hi Everyone,

I had a request the other day to post this card, so, in response to that request, here is a card that I made using two stamps from Sparkle N Sprinkle.  The ribbon is stamp 3246-407G and the background is stamp 3222-408V. I used White Detail embossing powder EP298 on the pink cardstock and Princess Rose embossing powder EP387 on the white cardstock. The ribbon was embossed using the Princess Rose embossing powder. Hope you like this card and gives you inspiration. This card is dedicated to Helen, one of my best friends who passed away from this dreaded disease on June 20, 2008. Happy 13th Birthday to you, Sparkle N Sprinkle

Hi Everyone

The month of October is going to be one large birthday celebration for Sparkle N Sprnkle. They are 13, a teenager. What fun. There will be contests and prizes all month long.So make sure you visit often.

I made a shutter card for my birthday card and used a set that is in my stash. I used autumn colors and boy those colors look great with this set even though this set might be looked on as a summer set.I bet you have stamps in your stash will look great in fall colors even though the set looks like it fits in a different season.

A shutter card is not difficult to make even though it appears to be so. The directions for a basic shutter card are on the Sparkle N Sprinkle website. Today is World Card Making Day

Today is World Card Making Day so in celebration I designed a card and used some stamps that I just received from Innovative Stamp Creations. These are from their latest release. Aren't they great. I love birds. Besides the bird stamp, the birdhouse and nest really sold me on this set. I have quite a few sets from this company. So I decided to make a card for you today using this set.

I stamped the birdhouse and decided it needed depth on the inside so I just added a few lines and put the nest in the birdhouse. I hope you can see the little bit I added to give the inside of the birdhouse some depth. I used another stamp from this company for the background. Love the watery handwriting background. It looks like someone wrote a note and then it got wet and bled out somewhat. (Hope that makes sense.) I used some distressed inks and Adirondack inks to color and distress the card.

I opened my mailbox today and there were 3 stamp sets from Sparkle N Sprinkle. Two are brand new releases for Christmas, and one of these Christmas releases coordinates with a Spellbinders die set and I already have a few designs in mind.  So make sure to stop back for more Christmas ideas for you holiday cards.
