Last night was our monthly club meeting and we always have a challenge and a theme card to make. Well the challenge card was really a challenge for me because of the color of a piece of card stock we were given to use. We were given a piece of CS that was 8.5" X 5.5" and a brad. Well the card stock is double sided but on one side there are these pink/purple apples , the other side was dotted. I wasn't to crazy about the color of the apples, though.
So I thought on that one for a while. In the meantime I downloaded a free digi stamp from the Michelle Perkett Studio blog, its an apple, so my card was coming together at last. But what to do with those pink/purple apples. Well what else but color them red. So I used a red Spica pen and colored them. They look great with the digi apple now that they are red.
Next was the theme card, A Splash of Color. So I decided to use alcohol inks and I also used a stamp I have had for a while from Hero Arts. I have always loved this stamp.
I found a card in my stash that holds a picture and has a frame built in. The spot to hold a picture makes it easy to quickly frame a picture or a stamped image. All I had to do was slide the stamped panel up in it and it became a framed piece. It worked out perfect!!
We made the coolest ornament in our meeting, so stop in tomorrow to check that out.
Well thanks for stopping in today, see you soon.
With regards to that apple card, Barb, great job at turning the proverbial sow's ear into a silk purse. That paper in its original form did you no favors, did it! LOL
ReplyDeleteI have to say, though, that I LOVE your alchool inks card. Beautiful colors, really nice stamp and an overall great card for the coming autumn!
Love, love, love that alcohol ink card. B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!
ReplyDeleteLove how you changed the color of the apple paper - it looks great! Really cute card!
ReplyDeleteAnd that alcohol card - well....it's just stunning! Love it!
