The Mushroom House

Hi Everyone,
Happy March 1st !!! Can you believe it. WOW does the time really fly! Today is the first of the month and that means its time for the next monthly challenge over at the Sparkle N Sprinkle Creative Challenges blog. This month the challenge is to use any color glitter on your project and upload it using the linky button.

The response has been great that besides the grand prize of a stamp set of your choice, there are now top 3 winners as well. The top 3 winners will receive a badge to display on their blog. Head on over to the Sparkle N Sprinkle Creative Challenges  blog to see who the winners are and to check out the March challenge theme.

Don't forget, there is a digital image that is given away each month to those who use a Sparkle N Sprinkle stamp or digital image that has been purchased. Here is the March free digi.

And here is the card I made using this cute digi

I used a few stencils to make my own background paper and I also added a chicken wire reversed stencil image from The Crafters Workshop in the white space of the Mushroom House. (I didn't like all that white space.) LOL This mushroom house would look so cute in your garden along with all the other mushrooms that probably grow there.

I hope to see your creation as an entry over at Sparkle N Sprinkle Creative Challenges this month.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Divas By Design - Anything Goes

Ruby's Rainbow - In the Garden

7 Kids College Fund  - Anything Goes

Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes

Have a great weekend

Sending Happy Little Thoughts

Hi Everyone,
I am back with another card that I made using that cute Pansy set ( set 479 ) from Sparkle N Sprinkle. This time this card spotlights the other sentiment in the set and that single pansy stamp.I decided to use that single pansy as a border. I also made the sentiment the focal point on this card.

I added some glitter, used some punches and ribbon and the card is finished.
What I used on this card:

Pansy Set 479
I used dies from the Spellbinder Pendant set S4-270
MS PATP
Markers & Blender Marker
Sparkle N Sprinkle (SNS) Elegant Emerald Glitter G1011

I am submitting this card in the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping in and I will be back soon,

Flowers of Gratitude

Hi Everyone,
Boy, I know spring is around the corner, I am in a cleaning and reorganizing mode. I finally put my embossing folders in categories and now I will be able to find what I need, faster. I even used 2 different folders on the card I want to share with you today.

Recently Sparkle n Sprinkle introduced a new set called Pansy, set 479. This is the prettiest set and it reminds me of spring. Pansies and Viola's love cool weather, they seem to be the first flowers out at the nurseries so I am sure we will be seeing these beauties soon around here.Since they love cool temps, they will even survive some light snows. I love seeing these pretty flowers peeking out on cool sunny days.

Here is a card that I finished today using this pretty new set.

No ribbon on this card ..... I thought those pearls would work just as well.

I used one of those mini 8 punches from We R Memory Keepers on that white glossy cs. They are really great and I have figured out ways to get a few different looks other than the ones that are suggested by the company. I just punched on the opposite corners to get this look.

Well thanks for stopping by today and I will see you soon.

Thank You

Hi Everyone,
I have been busy with my February Bakers Dozen classes over the last week or so. In the next few days I will post those cards that I introduced in the February BD classes.

In the meantime, I was at Stamping Buddies today for my monthly make & take event. (I do a M&T the last Saturday of each month at Stamping Buddies) As I was helping people get their cards done, I remembered I needed to send out a thank you card and decided to make a card using the same product that I was working with today.

Here is the thank you card I made:

Let me show you some of the other cards that I designed for today's M&T's at Stamping Buddies:

These cards all use 3-D Papier Tole by Hot Off The Press. All the elements for a card design come on a sheet and are pre perforated and there are usually 3 card designs per sheet. My thank you card is from the Natures Fern design.  This product makes card making so quick and easy. The thank you sentiment is a Greetings Stickers also from Hot Off The Press. Again, fast & easy. A card in probably 15 minutes flat. For me that's fast!!!

OK..... well I have a few more cards to get made.

Thanks for stopping in today and I will see you soon.

Sparkle N Sprinkle's Monochromatic Blog Hop

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for joining the Sparkle N Sprinkle Monochromatic blog hop.If you have arrived here from April's blog then you are in the correct spot.If you haven't and you want to be eligible for prizes, then please start at the beginning at the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog to be eligible for some fabulous prizes.

Our theme for this blog hop is monochromatic and I am so excited to do a monochromatic card because I hardly ever do them. I guess I really never think of a card in all one color family. Each and every time I see one done that way, I just love the look and the outcome. So the first card I chose to do in the  monochromatic theme is in the green family.

When I designed this card  I decided to punch (or you can cut) 1 1/8" squares. I stamped 3 of them using the brocade stamp in set 398. I also stamped 2 more on the 1 1/8" squares using the small swirl butterfly in set 437. And last, I stamped the verse ( in set 437) onto one more 1 1/8"square. I stamped and glittered  the butterfly and fussy cut it out. For the complete instructions to make this card, click here.

You know, summer will be here before we know it so I used stamps that are in a beach theme. This next card showcases some of the Ocean Treasures stamps in set 404 using a beautiful blue card stock. I decided to use embossing powder on the sea grass and I used the poolside ep (ep393) and was really pleased with the way it turned out. I cut squares and used a corner rounder on opposite corners to add a different look to the squares. That  twine adds an additional element to the card, too.Click here for more info on this card.

Well that wraps up what I have for you today. Just a reminder to leave a comment to be eligible for the fabulous prizes that are to be awarded.  There are prizes "hidden" in some of the blogs, so the comment you leave just may be one of the winners.

Next on the blog hop agenda is none other than the most talented Shanna Sands, So hop on over to her blog to check out her wonderful projects.

Here is the list of the all of the designers in case you get lost.

** April Williams ** Barbara Bruder (That's Me) ** Shanna Shands ** Jackie Smith **

** Anne Temple  ** Shona Erlenborn  ** Karin Martin  ** Brenda Smalle  **

Thanks for stopping in so I could share with you some fun designs today

Hi Everyone
Welcome to the first Craft-Dee BowZ Blog Hop. This months blog hop is featuring a Valentine theme. If you hopped here by way of Amber's Blog then you are in the right place!! Otherwise you might wish to start at the Craft-Dee BowZ blog to become eligible for the Craft-Dee BowZ prize of a tool and a spool of beautiful ribbon.

Since Valentine's Day is right around the corner I thought I would make a card that might give you some inspiration if you still need to make that special card for the special someone in your life.

A side step card makes a cool card and is quite easy to make and assemble

Here is a close up of my bow
and using the Craft-Dee BowZ tool makes your bow making abilities easy.

I also made a darling little box that is perfect for a little sweet treat to accompany a card.

I used just a single loop bow using wired ribbon. It turned out to be a perfect choice for this box.

Here is a view more from the top looking down. It gives a better view of the bow.

Here is the box opened with the sweet treats spilling out

Thanks for taking the time to join us for the first blog hop. Please remember to comment here on my blog and then leave one last comment over at the Craft-Dee BowZ blog  to be eligible for the prize.  We are looking forward to your thoughts on our first blog hop.

Top O' the Morning to ya

Hi Everyone,
I am back to show you a beautiful two toned bow that I made using two different colored ribbons. I know, we are just beginning the month of February and Valentine's cards are probably still on your mind, but, I had this beautiful gold and a green sheer ribbon in my stash and I wanted to make a St. Patrick's themed card.  Sheer ribbons are my favorite type of ribbon to use with the Craft-Dee BowZ tool.

This tool

gives you the ability
to make
a bow like this

Here is the bow on my card.

Since I have no St. Patty's stamps, (imagine that!!) I just used green card stocks and a great little shamrock  punch. I stamped a beautiful butterfly, glittered it up and I perched it on a rosette. Scored the background paper and traced the score marks with a glue pen and covered with green glitter.

OK,  get your valentine cards done, then it will be on to St. Patty's Day cards. Get your Craft-Dee BowZ tool out to make your spectacular bows. Don't have one!!?!! Well to order yours today, click here then click the Buy Now button located on the side bar.

Oh I almost forgot! We are having a blog hop Thursday February 7. So,please join us for the first Craft-Dee BowZ Blog Hop. We will be awarding a prize of a Craft-Dee BowZ tool and a spool of gorgeous ribbon. Since the design team is made up of  4 designers, it won't take you very long to get thru the hop. Commenting will put you in the running to be a prize winner.

I hope to see you back here Thursday for the Blog Hop. Have a great day

Barbara
