I had a class this past Saturday and used 2 large Catherine Scanlon images from Art Gone Wild.
(I love her images.) This image is about 4"X 6" and needs to be used on a 5"X 7" card. Some of my students are not big fans of 5"X 7" cards so I put on my thinking cap to see how we could still use this gorgeous image.
Today I will be sharing with you 2 cards using the same image.
I can't wait to show you how I used that large image to work on a 4.25"X 5.5" card.
First let me share the stamp image with you,
it is called Elegant Flower Frame.
I just love this stamp.
Here is the first card we did in class, notice I used the stamp in the usual way
and as you see it takes up most of the 5"X 7" card front.
The class was a technique class using Pan Pastels as the coloring medium. So the students were exposed to the Pan Pastels as a coloring medium.
They are so rich and so smooth. Easy to blend. And a little goes a long way!!
The students fell in love with Pan Pastels.
Let me move on to the 2nd card we made, still using this same stamp,
but now the card size is an A2 card (4.25"X 5.5") The students were so excited to use the larger stamp and still be able to use it on an A-2 size card.
Here is the A2 card closed.
And here is the inside of the card
In looking at the whole stamp image, I saw that label area and decided that was where I was going to be able to cut the image apart, making two areas that compliment each other. By cutting at the label area, I would be keeping most of image intact to use on the card front and the label part would go on the inside of the card.
Note that on the smaller card, those large flowers still fit perfectly on the front, I used softer colors that really are not showing up very well (sorry).
For those of you who pass up on larger stamps. look at them with a closer eye and you may find that you can still use the stamp, by just cutting the stamped image apart and using the parts in different areas of the card.
