Joy Comes In The Morning

Well hello everyone!!!

Welcome to a new season - SPRING. Lets hope that the weather starts to give us spring temperatures!! Wouldn't that be great!!! Flowers are starting to bloom and the grass is turning green - all awesome signs of spring!!

Since we are in the beginnings of spring, I thought I'd celebrate with a card with a tulip image. Creative Moments challenge #211 has started and ArtsyStamper happens to be the sponsor.

I really love tulips and this image caught my eye. The tulip is in the Early Spring Beauty set over at the  ArtsyStamper's Etsy shop. Perfect for the start of the spring season.

For my card:

I made a braided edge on the fold side of the base card and added glitter to the braids. Then I used strips of left over scraps to cover a panel for the front of the card. Love doing this to use some pretty scraps I've been holding on to forever.(I have a hard time throwing paper scraps away.) After I adhered the strips on to the panel, I used a glue pen to trace the lines between the strips and then covered the glue with glitter. I am sure this is not showing up on the photo, but that glitter really makes the strips stand out. I colored the tulip with colored pencils and used gamsol to shade the petals on the tulip. I cut the tulip onto an oval shape and added a glitter accent to the oval and attached it to the card panel and added the panel to the card front.

I added a sentiment with a glittered border to the card front and the card is ready to be sent out.
