Just Because

Welcome back to my second post for today.

Its really unbelievable that November is here already!!! Yep that turkey (or whatever you will be making) will be cooking in the oven pretty soon.

Since it's November 1, The Love To Scrap Challenge has started and hope you stop on over and check out the other projects from the other designers.

For my project I decided to make a floral card. Even though it's fall I decided to use pink on my card.

I decided to make a slimline card. I used a digital floral image and used 2 of them to make the flowers look more like a bouquet. I used some Spectrum Sparkle and Wink of Stella to color the flowers. I used some white CS scraps, cut in 1/4" strips to add just a little something to that pink background. I also snipped some green CS scraps to look like sprigs for the floral design.

The sentiment is also digital and I printed it off using my toner printer and I foiled it with a pink foil. Sorry that this pic really doesn't show off that beautiful pink foil.

SUPPLIES I USED ON MY PROJECT

StampsDigital - Gracielle Designs - Flowers - from the Together set, Sentiment from the Bougainvillea Galore set
Paper/Card Stock
White CS, Green CS, Pink CS
Dies: Spellbinders - Ovals
Accessories: Spectrum Sparkle; Wink of Stella; thin paint brush; Minc Mini Machine; Pink Foil

Hope my card inspired you to use some of your scraps (I know you have some!!) And looking at a card, who will ever know that you used scraps somewhere on the card.

Thanks for stopping in today, and I will be back soon

Merry Christmas

 Hello Everyone

WOW!!!!!!  November is here and I am getting in the Christmas mode.

I have already got some presents bought and stashed away. How about you???

Speaking of Christmas, The Merry Little Christmas Challenge has begun and I sure hope you visit to check out the other DT's project. Great place for some Christmas inspiration.

So now it's time to focus on Christmas cards. Have you started making yours yet?? No!! Well let me give you an idea.

I know some of you like to make easy to make cards and some like more intricate cards. Well this card is kind of in-between, I think.

This card reminds me of a paint swatch you can get from the local store, you know, the ones that have a few colors in a color family and a little white space in-between those colors.

Here is my card

Doesn't that remind you of a paint swatch!

This card is a 6X6. Next I cut a white layer of CS and rounded the top two corners and attached it to the green card base. Then, I cut 3 green vertical panel pieces, the same width and about 4" in length. I used a spruce evergreen die to cut the smaller tree on the 2 end pieces and I used the medium spruce evergreen die on the center panel piece. I used the corner rounder on the two end panels. I trimmed the two end panels the same length on the bottom. The center panel is also trimmed on the bottom just a little higher than the end ones. These 3 panels are attached to that white layered piece. Next I attached the spruce evergreen trees in the open spaces and left a little white space to accent the tree shape.

I added a gold heat embossed sentiment to the bottom under those vertical panels. The sentiment piece is layered on a piece of gold CS. To add some additional interest, I used some gold dots from some outline stickers I have in my stash.
