Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle Deco Divas – Love is in the Air Blog Hop! If you hopped here by way of the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog , then you are in the right place. Otherwise, you might like starting from the beginning at the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog to become eligible for the four great prizes.
Important things first!
One lucky person will win the Grand Prize - a Stamp Set of the winner's choice mounted on cling cushion. As you visit each artist's blog, there is the possibility of winning one of THREE more prizes! It's a secret though. No one knows who "those three secret artists" are except for Brenda...so be sure to leave a comment on EACH blog to be eligible (including the SNS blog).
Each of the Sparkle Team Designers will be sharing their thoughts on how their cards fit into the romance theme.I know I speak for each of the designers when I say "We hope you enjoy viewing our cards as much as we did in creating them."
I used stampette set 453 Happy Heart on my first card. As soon as I looked at this new set, I thought of valentine cards from when I was a kid. You may remember them, they were so cute and whimsical. So I decided to make an easel card to try to carry on that look.
Here is this darling stamp set I used.

This turned out easy to make. So if you haven't tried an easel card yet, don't shy away from them. They are not hard to make. Click here for the detailed instructions.
I'd like to share with you a 2nd project which is a card and an envelope combination. I used a petal card to use as an envelope.
Don't forget, to become eligible to win a Grand Prize, please leave a comment on EACH blog, and follow the directions on the last blog. Winners of the mini prizes are selected when they leave a comment on the mystery designer's blog AND answer the final question at the SNS Home Blog.
I want to thank you for stopping in today to check out my card creation. Now it's time to hop on over to Julie Zippel's blog to see what she has designed.

I'd like to share with you a 2nd project which is a card and an envelope combination. I used a petal card to use as an envelope.
The picture above, is of the petal card closed with doilies attached to the petals and a belly band was added to keep the envelope closed.
In keeping with the love/Valentine theme here is the special card that is inside the envelope. This is an odd card in that it is hinged on the bottom instead of on the top or the side. Don't you just love things that are a little different.
I used 2 stamps from stampette set 454 and I also used 2 different punches in designing this card.
Here is a view of the petal card that I am using for the envelope and the card resting in the envelope with the belly band in front. You can click here for detailed instructions.

Thank you for all the lovely examples and the tutorials. I liked all of your cards. The cards looked fresh and crisp. I liked all your little details, and all the examples of layering that I saw.
Barbara - I love the different looks you created with your cards. I love the ribbon around the heart easel card. The second card with the doily was beautiful.
Your cards are both lovely...but my favorite is the first one. I love the "all white" against the red. It's so crisp. Thank you for including the directions...as a newbie to paper art, I really appreciate all the help I can get!
Your "Valentines" certainly are lucky people!
What nice projects. I am so impressed!
Your cards are so striking...love the first one with the ruffles!
Great cards Barbara! My favorite is that adorable heart easel. Have to say I love that white ruffle around it too - SO sweet!
Great cards! I thought that first one was a box of candy:)
Good Morning Barb!, Your cards are so beautiful. I always love your easel card designs, no better way to show off the work put into the card!
Loved the cards - The first one brought back many good memories of when I used to make cards for my elementary school classmates. Keep up the good work
Two awesome cards Barbara. The easel card looks like a pillow - love the ruffles! Great idea with the envelope on the second card too!
What beautiful cards. I especially like the doily card.
That heart shaped easel is just lovely and so unique! I love the intricate look of the doilies on the second :) Great projects!
Barbara your valentine creations are just darling xxx
Barbara these are gorgeous! That red and white combo is so clean looking and I love all the different folds you made, great cards!
Love both of your cards, Barbara. Need to try the scalloped card!
Barbara, love the traditional red and white in your cards. Your details have me wow'ed to say the least. The pleated ribbon, so expertly adhered and covered, I imagine with another heart makes your card look like a heart-box-of-candies! (only your's is prettier, of course). The dimensional element to hold the easel card up almost looks like it is made of felt! Beautiful card for sure! The incredible petal card drew me in with those wonderful layers of red and white, punches and images - just a lovely card in every way, and so much detail! I love details LOL. Thank you for sharing your imaginative and outstanding masterpieces, Seester Barbara!
I forgot to add - wonderful new blog dressing!
Just love the heart folded card
Barbara, I love both of your cards! The ruffle on the first one adds a great touch. I love the punches on the second one. You did a great job on these!

Both cards are made beautifully. I love the pleated ribbon on the heart easel card. It gives it that little something extra. On the second card, I adore the envelope. The doilies give it an intricate finishing touch that completes the piece.
You're absolutely right! Your first card does remind me of all those cute little cards we got as children! Your idea to make it an easel card was inspiring.........
Your second creation leaves me speechless LOL...it's so crisp and so very red and white. I love the punch on the top of the card and hinging on the bottom is a fun idea......
Oh my...I can't choose which is my favorite so I guess I have to pick both of them! Love the fresh red and white Barbara..beautiful!
The whimsical approach is so delightful. Love the (lacy) ribbon and the doilies.

Wow, Barb. Love both cards. Easel cards have become one of my favs. Yours is really special with the pleates. The second card is really wonderful....wish I had all those dies. Is there an easy way to make the envelope (petal) without having the die? Thank you for 2 great ideas.
Great job Barbara... I am jealous that you have the new MB die already... the place I normally buy from is already sold out and the new Cherry lynn dies too :( Love both cards. I am finding myself to be a pop dot person I love love love dimensions. Great job.
