Step into my Garden

Hi Everyone,

I have a quick post showing  a card using a few dies and one gorgeous stamp. One die set I used is from Sizzix, a tiny lily. Another die I used is from Impression Obsession and that dies called Hollyhocks. And that stamped image is from Serendipity Stamps.I have the whole alphabet and each letter is gorgeous.

Let me share the card with you.

When making this card, I used a brick wall embossing folder on the celery green panel. I rubbed over the raised design Lavender Bloom dye ink from Fresco to bring out that brick design. Love those inks.

You're My Rainbow

Hi Everyone
Hope you all are having a great holiday weekend. I want to share a card today that might be more appropriate if it were a rainy day. And this weekend we are not supposed to have rain here in the Cincinnati area. So I guess you can save this one for a rainy day.

This card is an easy one to make.On a strip of card stock, color the umbrellas in various ink colors and stamp them in a few different positions. I mounted the umbrella strip on a slightly larger blue card stock strip and attached it to the card front.

Next I stamped and colored the rainbow on white card stock, fussy cut it out and attached it with dimensional foam. I stamped those cute little clouds on white card stock and fussy cut those out too and they are attached with dimensional foam as well. Adding the sentiment at the bottom of the card finished it

The Cards for Club

Hello Crafters!!!

Tuesday nite was the monthly club meeting and we were given various items to draw from to make our challenge card.

Well I looked at the pile of goodies and decided on the flowery photo corners and the matching flower disc and the sentiment, "sunshine".

I also used a new die that I picked up this weekend. The die is flowers and thought it would kind of go with the flowery photo corners.

Happy Mother's Day

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for stopping in today. Just wanted to share with you a card that I put together in honor of Mother's Day.

Unfortunately my mother left some 20 years ago, but I think of her daily and miss her still. I know she is watching over me from above.

I am "mom" to 3 furry babies and they depend on me every day. I adopted 2 of them 13 years ago and the third cat adopted me 3 years ago. So this card is for you Mom and for everyone.

Hope you enjoy the day wherever you happen to be!!

My bow was made using my Craft-Dee BowZ. I use it virtually every day on some project. Makes a perfect bow every time.The image I used is from The Graphics Fairy and is called Vintage Mother's Day Illustration, a perfect image to use for a Mother's Day Card..

The Best Day Ever

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for stopping by today. This month the design team at Craft-Dee Bow will be using digital images from The Graphics Fairy. You will definitely want to check out all the designers projects this month for their very creative cards and other ideas using images from The Graphics Fairy.They have so many cool images and I hope you check them out soon.

I am very excited to show you The Graphics Fairy digital image that I used for my card today.

This image shows a fairy looking out of the center of a flower. I thought it would look great to have the petals popping off the card.To get that effect, I printed the image 3 times. The first image is the bottom image and is just  flat and cut with an oval Spellbinders die. Next I fussy cut the 2nd image and using my Paper Blossom tool kit, I shaped the petals to have them lifting up. I attached that right on top of the original image, but I left the petals free so they would bend. For the 3rd image I cut away everything except the orange-ish petals, making sure to include the green base of the flower. I used the Blossom tool kit on these petals as well, giving them a bend also. Again I layered these petals over the same area on image #2, attaching just at the base of the flower.. This gives the look of the fairy looking out of a real flower.Let me show you a close up view.

I decided to use some greenery and twigs and I added pearls to look like little buds on the brown twigs and as accents with some rhinestones on the greenery.

My bow - was made using the Craft-Dee BowZ tool. Using a sheer ribbon, I made a triple loop bow and added a lacy butterfly over the center knot. The tool makes bow making so easy. If you have trouble making a bow, this tool is the answer to your prayers.

There is gorgeous lace as a border on the card and the vellum panel is embossed with a Spellbinders Floral folder.

That wide lace piece might be a little hard to see, it extends down under the greenery and its under the sentiment also. I layered another piece if crocheted lace on top of that wide lace piece.

The Portfolio

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for stopping back in today.Recently I posted about the two classes that I took up in Circleville Ohio. The first project I shared earlier was the Tea Box Class. If you missed it, click here to check it out.The other class was a date book portfolio and I am sharing that class project today. The class was taught by Terri Sproul, a talented artist from California. These two projects were fabulous.

All of the papers in this project are Graphic 45 except for one, which you will see in a minute.

Here is a front view of the portfolio, closed. It has a belly band with a card attached to the front of the band. The band stays shut with the aid of magnets.

Here is the back view closed. These G45 papers are spectacular they are from the By The Sea line!!!

Here is a full view of the portfolio on the outside.

Lets peek inside. This portfolio houses a perpetual calendar of sorts. You can make note of birthdays and anniversaries and whatever dates are important to you on the sheets for the different months, which are stored here in the portfolio. This calendar is not year specific which makes it good forever.

The first 6 months sheets are on the left and the last 6 months reside on the right side of the portfolio.

Let me share with you the January card as it comes out of the portfolio. The bottom portion is folded up and decorated with a stamp image and a little paper strip all from the G45 papers. The cards are printed with the lines, the numbers  that coincide with the days in the month and the month name but are not from the G45 line. Terri made these. These would be easy to replicate on the computer.

Here is the other side of the January card.That gorgeous card is another piece we cut from the G45's  By The Sea line. Terri had rubber stamps for each the months, to identify the month on the  top of the backside of each months card.

This project is adorable and I can see other themes for a portfolio besides a date keeper.You can too I'm sure.The portfolio shape was made using a template from Greensneakers.com it was so easy to use and fit right on a 12X12 piece of the G45 DP.

You Make Me Smile

Hi Everyone,

Whoo Hoo it's May 1. WOW I am lovin' the spring time temps here and for the most part, the weather. However, we have had quite a bit of rain lately in the Greater Cincinnati area. But it beats snow. LOL

May 1 and it's time for the start of the May Challenge over at Craft-Dee BowZ. Time to activate your creativity and enter a project in this month's challenge.The theme every month is Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow. That about covers anything you might want to submit. Just include a bow in your creation and you will be in the running.

Spring makes most of us think of  flowers. So with that in mind, I made a card spotlighting a paper folded dahlia.(Click here for a wonderful visual on how to do the folds. It's easy!!)

Let me share with you my card.

Folded circles that become flowers, how cool!!.Those yellow flower centers were colored with Pan Pastels. I mounted them on a shaped embossed panel and added leaves and branches. The bow is made using my trusty Craft-Dee BowZ tool.

That bow maker really makes a mean bow, don't you think!!!. LOL
