CHF06 - Black White and a color you choose

Hi Everyone,

It's time for the CHF challenge again. Our hostess this time is Michele L  and her challenge theme is Black White and another color of your choice.

I thought I'd use the butterflies background and add a couple of larger butterflies to the front of the card.

Since I think butterflies are so incredibly beautiful, I used the word beautiful also.

I stamped the butterfly background onto white cs using Memento Black Tuxedo ink. Next I layered the stamped image with the green cs and the black cs. I used a Spellbinders Tag to hold the word.

I used some black half pearls to show movement of the butterflies. The butterflies are outline stickers and glittered using micro-fine glitter.

I used:
Green CS, White CS, Black CS
Black Dye Ink
Spellbinders Fancy Tags Three S5-031
Glitter Ritz Transparent Micro fine Glitter - Warm Highlight
Copic Markers - G94, G99
Black Pearls
Butterfly Outline Stickers

Want to play along????

If you would like to play along with us of course we would love to have you! AND - if you do, you could win a $10 Gift Certificate and a Winner's Badge to put on your Blog!

To play create a card using CHF images. You can use either CHF digi or rubber stamps to create a card or project.... anything you like as long as the stamps are Cornish Heritage Farms. (Yes, they can be older stamps.)

Getting Ready for Stampaway

Hi Everyone,
I know you are wondering where I've been. Well last week I was in Chicago attending the CHA event and I must say, I had a blast.

I worked a booth with a friend who was introducing her new bow maker tool. And there was quite a buzz about this new tool. And I must say that I use this tool all the time. It is so easy to make a bow using it.Chances are when you see a bow on one of my posts I used the bow maker. Here is a link to her site. http://craft-deebowz.blogspot.com/ She has posted some pic's and a quick story about her new bow making tool and the CHA convention.

The overall attendance at CHA was down compared to years past. But on the other hand that made getting in to talk to people easy and quick.

It was great to see some of the people I have known for a long time, and to touch base with them and talk about the new things they are intro'ing.

I got back Friday and have been busy finishing up on my Stampaway classes ever since. Phew, was I  farther behind this year than I thought. I will be done by the weekend and then I can get back to my everyday routine.

Next week I have:
At Stampaway
August 1 - Wednesday nite - a Stampaway class at Stamp Your Art Out working with glitter and outline stickers.
August 2 - Thursday @ 12:30 - I have a large class (36 attendees) in this  class that is packed full of 3 really cool projects.
Here on the blog:
August 1 -  the new monthly Sparkle N Sprinkle Sketch Challenge
August 1  - the next challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms
August  3 and Friday Aug 4. - the Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog Hop -  The theme is Our Furry Friends.

BTW, Sparkle N Sprinkle has added digital stamps to their line up so all you digi lovers will have some really cool digitals to use for the monthly challenges.

OK  now I have caught you all up on what I've been up to and what's coming next week. Please stop in next week to check out the posts for the challenges and the blog hop while I am at Stampaway. Have a great week and I will be back soon.

CHF05 Summer

Hi Everyone
It's time for the CHF challenge again. Time flies doesn't it. The hostess  is Anne and her challenge theme is SUMMER..

I remember when I was a kid, I rode my bike everywhere, all summer. It was like my car. I just received some new CHF sets and  Bicycle Life was one of them. So I thought I'd go back in time and use this stamp on my card.

I stamped the French Script on to my panel, then stamped the bicycle image over that. Next I added the Spellbinders tag and used the words from my computer. I added some ribbon and some bronze paper and made photo corners and here is my card with my take on the summer theme.

Since my last post was a Christmas In July theme, this post is following along the same lines. I have Christmas project to show you and it is so ca-ute. I can't take credit for this and I am sure you're gonna love this one.

At our monthly club meeting, Pat, gave out the challenge for the August meeting and it was in this unique packaging

It is a great way to present a small gift or money or gift cards. I am sure once you see this you will think of more types of presents to put in this...............

CAN

What a great idea.

Here is a pic of the back

This can has a pull tab top and here is another shot of the can opened

So clever!!
This works only with cans that have the lip on the bottom of the can, not the rounded type you sometimes see. She used the type of can opener that removes the lid with lip attached to the lid. Next you will empty the contents, remove the label and clean the can and let it dry.
After the can dries then stuff your goodies inside, reattach the bottom using super glue and attach your handmade label, attach a bow if you like and you have the cutest package for your gift.
To open the gift you just pull the tab at the top.

BTW, the can was packed with candy and a small clear stamp set that we must use for our challenge card for next month's meeting.

Well that is it for today. I am off to CHA and will try to post while I am there.

I will be coming back with a whole host of pics and info about new things and all kinds of stuff.... LOL

Talk to you soon

Time for the Cornish Heritage Farms Challenge

Hi Everyone

It's time for the next CHF challenge. The current challenge is being hosted by the ever talented Lisa. The theme she decided on is Birthday Card or Tag. Well I decided to make my tag into a birthday card.

Here is what I came up with:

and here is the inside

I used the Time To Stamp set from the Rummage Bin.
Love this set!!!

As I was trying to get this tag design together I spied one of the new stencils ( a bunch of gears) that I recently purchased and I thought would fit right in with the timepiece theme, so I sponged that on the front of the tag. Next I  used a gear punch for the copper colored gears and stamped and embossed the quarter piece of the clock. Since this set really isn't specifically about a birthday, I improvised a little. I printed the word "It's" on to CS then stamped the word Time, from this set, underneath. On the inside of the tag/card, I used my computer to print out the rest of the sentiment and then cut it out using a Spellbinders Labels Die.The half circle below the sentiment is also from this great set as well.

From Tea Cups to Tulips

Hi Everyone
Happy Monday. Today I get to prep for my colonoscopy. No biggie, it's been 5 years and its time to get checked again.

So while I am doing that, I want to share with you a new stamp set that was just released over at Sparkle N Sprinkle.

Aren't these so cute.OK, look at the cup on the left, the yellow one, it's called the tulip tea cup and that is what it reminded me of, a tulip. So when I put my design together I thought of flowers not tea.
And here is what I came up with.

The background panel uses a piece of glossy cardstock and I embossed it with a Sizzix embossing folder and then used alcohol inks to cover the whole panel. After that was done I colored the raised portions on the panel with Copic Markers to make the embossed parts look like they are in a flower garden. Adding the tulips just adds to the garden feel. I cut the stem and the petals freehand, with no template. Attached the stem and next I used my paper shaper on the flower and the leaves and then attached the flower head over the stem. Next I attached the leaves at the base of the card. By just attaching the leaves at the bottom fourth of the leaves it gives the leaf the ability to be manipulated and turned, just like the way they grow from the ground.

Entering this card in the following challenges:

Stampin Sisters in Christ  - Challenge #146 - John 13: 34-35- Use something new on your challenge

That's it for today. Have a great week, see you soon,

Happy Birthday Linda

Hi Everyone
Just a quick post to share with you a card that I made yesterday to give to one of my dearest friends, Linda.

Her birthday was Saturday and in her honor I made one of these cool book cards. She  really liked this. She was so surprised when I gave her the card.

Here is the card closed. I used designer paper and added a spine cover to the book and had it come over onto the front of the card/book cover. I  had embossed it and then used white ink to show off the embossed design.

Here is the card opened.

Here is a close up of the verse on the inside cover.

This is a shot of the card open to the inside. I love the way this side has a recessed area, it enables you to showcase a few things in this spot.

I just used some spare flowers I had in my stash and I had the this rosette but since it was round it needed to be smaller to fit better, so I just cut it in half to fit it inside the opening. I used a Hero Arts  happy birthday stamp and it fit perfectly on the Spellbinders Banner.

Hope you enjoyed this card book. Stop in on Monday, I have something new from Sparkle N Sprinkle to show you.

Hope to see you then
