Paris

Hello everyone,
It's time for a new challenge over at Crafty Creations Challenges. The theme for this challenge is Paris. I know we have all been saddened by the horrific event
that took place on Friday November 13.

If you are like me, I truly do not understand the whys of events like this one and I can only hope and pray that this madness ends, sooner vs. later. Let's keep Paris and all the other area's in distress, in our hearts and prayers.

In honor of our friends in Paris, I put together a 9" X 12" panel that highlights some Parisian items.

The French flag is blue, white and red, so I decided to incorporate their colors in my piece.

I have a great Paris themed stamp set that contains all the stamped images I used on the panel. I picked this up a year ago and this is the 1st time I used it. Interesting, I had this all this time, unused, just waiting.

Let me show you a closer view of some of those smaller stamped images.

Did you check out that background, I used a map of Paris.
I also added 3 fleur de lis, using gold CS.
The national flower of France is the iris
and is represented in the fleur de lis emblem,
the symbol of the French monarchy.
The French government today is a republic.

    Winter Wonderland

    Hello Everyone,
WOW, Tuesday nite was the monthly get together for the stamping club of which I am a member, and the time flies by between meetings. Well each month we are given a challenge, We are given something to use in making a card or some other project.

    We were given this:

Its a card that folds into a 5X5 square with half circles on each of the edges of the square.

I decided to make this a winter wonderland themed card.

Let me share some more pics.

First I cut circles using blue CS, and cut those in half and ran them thru an embossing folder that has snowflakes on it. I attached the half circles on both sides of the half circle card flaps. You will notice that I made a belly band and added 2 white punched snowflakes. That belly band holds the card closed.

Sliding the belly band off allows the card to be opened .........

to reveal a darling snowman. I used a beautiful die - Snow Corner, placing two of them in opposite corners.

I added a snowman and just added a bit of color to his scarf. Then the sentiment gets added and lastly I used a glue pen to add glittery falling snowflakes, a snowbank and some highlights to the snowman.

Notice those embossed half circles are on the inside of the card as well as the outside.

    SUPPLIES USED ON MY PROJECT

    Thankful Hearts

    Hello Everyone and welcome back.

Time for a new Crafty Creations Challenge

Crafty Creations Challenges always have great sponsors and the sponsor for this challenge (#302)
    is Fresh Brewed Designs

Crafty Creations Challenges last 2 weeks and the theme for this challenge is Give Thanks

Since we have the Thanksgiving holiday coming very soon,
I decided to use the Fresh Brewed Designs pumpkin image. It's #70 - Fall Pumpkin,
click here to check it out and/or order it.

    Let me show my card.

Those pumpkins I used on my card are the same image. I just changed the shape somewhat when I printed them out on my card stock.

Here is the original image right after I colored it. I sized this one at about 2"

And below is the second image.
To print my saved images, I use Word software and insert the saved digital image on the Word document. On this second image I made it larger, to do that I used the arrow in the bottom center and pulled the image downward instead of using the corner arrow. Using that corner arrow keeps the image size in perspective. I wanted this pumpkin to be taller and skinnier.

Let me share with you info on that center portion of the card, I used some corrugated cardboard  and pulled some of the paper off the front side to make it look distressed and colored with Pan Pastels. I then placed that corrugated piece on the card center.

I attached the pumpkins to that center panel.( I know this looks wet but it really isn't.)
For a little added texture I added a vine which is Boxwood twine and its bendable. Love it!!

    SUPPLIES USED ON MY PROJECT

    Frustration is Part of Success

    Hi Everyone and Welcome Back,

Here is a card that I made a while back and it's been sitting waiting to be posted. So I thought I share this now, before we get really far into the Christmas season.

Do you like things, cards, that are outside the norm?? I know I do especially if they are easy to do.

Well I was looking at Pinterest the other day and spied a card that was a little different so you know it caught my eye.

I decided to change it a tad and make it mine, so to speak.

Here is the card that I came up with

    And here it is opened

I love this design, It has a front that gets opened but that card front is just a portion of the card. Just a little different but easy to do and you can use some leftover paper if need be. This would make a darling Christmas card design as well, hmmm.... I have the coolest tree that would fit perfectly on the card front. I may have to make one and show you in a post later this week.

    SUPPLIES USED ON MY PROJECT

    Ink: India Ink
Accessories: Dimensional Foam, Markers, Flat Back Pearls

I am submitting this card in the following challenges:

This is a quick and easy card and a little different but a lot of fun.

    Have a great week

    The Autumn Tree

    Welcome back!!!

It's the first Tuesday of November and its time for my Craft-Dee BowZ post.

This month the designers were asked to use burlap with some Festive Fall Foliage. Burlap, hmmmm it just reminds me of fall don't you agree??
Of course burlap really can go with so many things besides fall.
Well let me show you what I came up with.

This card is a very simple card with burlap and some silk leaves in the glorious fall colors. But the bow, well it kind of took center stage. This ribbon is so beautiful with the vibrant fall colors, and since the ribbon is wired, this bow really maintains its shape.

Let me show you a closer view of the bow.

OK I admit I could not make this bow, without my trusty Craft-Dee BowZ tool. This tool lets me make lush bows with ease.

This little tool lets me make bows like the one above.
    Easy peasy!! REALLY!!
And you can use it for your gift packages too.
    It isn't just for cards.

Don't forget Craft-Dee BowZ has a challenge every month and you have plenty of time to make a project and enter it before the month of November is over.
The theme is always, Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow.
I am going to be looking for your entry.

I am submitting my card in the following challenges:

  • 613 Avenue Create -  #147 Anything Goes or Thank You (#79)
  • Dragonfly +Dreams - Ribbons & Bows (#1)
  • Scrappy Hands -  #51 Autumn/Fall (#4)

    Have a Bountiful Season

    Hello Everyone

Well did you get a lot of Trick or Treaters?? I sure did!! Did you turn your clocks back 1 hour??

Can you believe it, we just crossed right into November. The last 2 months will fly by.

Since its the 1st of another month, its time for the new challenge over at Craft-Dee BowZ. That means you have the whole month to get a project made and entered in the challenge. As always the theme is Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow.

Let me share my inspiration card with you today. (All of the CDB designers make an inspiration piece to share with you all. The CDB post on the first of each month shows all of the DT inspiration projects.)

Here is a closer view of my bow, made with the Craft-Dee BowZ bow making tool.

The striped ribbon is just 2 loops staggered one on top of the other. The center bow however is a triple loop bow, made with the Craft-Dee BowZ tool and I just attached it to the center of the staggered loops.

Since we are in the fall season, I added the silk leaves as added interest and added texture.

Just think, this little tool made that bow on my card. And it makes bow making so easy.
You can order your very own here
