Happy As A Witch

Hi there! How's it going today!!

Hope you are having a super Saturday, (or a Sunday depending where you live or whatever day it is as you are reading this).  I am so amazed how fast this year has gone by so far. I am already getting projects ready for the Christmas holidays. I am working on cards, bag toppers, tags, dimensional flowers, gift card holders and some decor items.
Whew, I sure hope I get this all done by my deadline.

Speaking of getting ready, it's time for the next challenge

The sponsor for this challenge is Fabrika Fantasy

The prize -  3 images
The theme is always Anything Goes

Let me share my project and I hope it gives you some inspiration.

I decided to get in the Halloween mode and this witch was really calling to me. As I was coloring her I decided to make her a broom, and you know,
that is still the witch's main mode of transportation.
She is called Little Witch (and she is just old enough to fly, LOL)

Her broom was super easy to make.
Let me show you.

I started out with a strip of scrapbook paper 8" X 1 1/2".
Next, I applied some yellowish ink,  in a direct to paper mode, using Scattered Straw.
Make sure to ink both sides of the paper.

Next, I snipped the paper to resemble straw.
I left about 1/4" on the top (unsnipped) to use to place my tape.
Make sure your snips are pretty close together.
Apply double-sided tape to the unsnipped top area.
For the broom handle, I used a 6" bamboo skewer. I laid the skewer on the end of the snipped paper and rolled it til all the paper was attached.

Since most straw brooms appear to be sewn at the top area, I used some thin gold thread to wrap around the top part of the paper. I trimmed the handle so it didn't appear to be too long.

And there you are, a broom.

With Love

Hello everyone,

Well,  how is August treating you so far??  It's hot here in the Midwest and the Ohio Valley could stand some rain. Hope your area is a bit better than here.

I am a lover for embossing folders and dies. So, when I spied an embossing folder that also cuts, well I knew I just had to have that.

The folder I am using on the card below is by Crafters Companion and is called Heart Flourish.

I cut a 4" X 5 1/4" white CS panel and embossed/cut it. I also cut a small pink piece to get that center heart shape and positioned in that center heart. To show off the beautiful embossed design, I used foam ink pods to apply pink ink to the raised design. I love those things. They work so well in coloring embossed areas on CS.

The flowers are stamped onto pink CS using a dark reddish ink.  The ink is Fresco Chalk Finish dye ink and the color is Paprika Prado. These inks have been around for ages. I have all  30 colors and I just love them They remind me of old world colors and I use them from time to time. If you ever see them check them out. This ink line has some really gorgeous colors.

The flowers and leaves are from Dare2B Artzy
Doodle Flowers.
I fussy cut those flowers out added some glitter and glued them to the card front.

My bow -
This bow is a simple double loop bow.

The tool

It's small but mighty. It makes a "mighty fine" bow.
