Joy

Welcome to Friday

The best day of the week for most workers.
I want to share  a card that I made for my stamp club. It's what we call the challenge. It can be a card or whatever but we must use the challenge piece we were given at the prior meeting.

OK so in August we were given a small (1 5/8" round) embroidery hoop. I looked at that thing for a few minutes and then I knew what my card would look like.

I made a 5"X7" card Used DP as the layer piece on the front of the red card stock and started there.

I then cut a fir branch and glued that on the card front.
Next I cut 2 silver ornament  shapes a attached those onto the branch.
After that, I used that embroidery hoop to make a larger ornament.
I punched a kraft paper circle and glued that on the back of the hoop. I have some letter stickers and use them to spell the word "JOY" and put the word in the center of the hoop. I also used 2 punched sprigs to attach on the front edge of the hoop. Added some red beads and used some gold thread and attached it to the branch.

I must apologize the photo for the photo of the card. I was in a hurry and I didn't get the left edge of the card on the pic.

Anyway, this is my card using the embroidery hoop.
The hoop became an ornament.

Hope you like the outcome of the card and again so sorry for my picture. Next month I promise I will do better

Thanks for stopping in and hope to see you soon.

Merry Christmas

Hello crafters,

Some of you may know,  I belong to a stamping club.
We meet once a month and its always on the 2nd Tuesday evening
Club meeting was Tuesday evening and we are to bring 2 completed projects.
A themed project and a challenge project.
The projects can be anything and not necessarily a card.
I made a card and I thought I'd pop in and share with you the theme card that I made for club.
The theme for September was to use banners and/or hearts.

Well I decided to make a Christmas card.

I used the banners to spell MERRY  and just added the word Christmas
below it on a seperate vellum piece
I thought my banner would look great against a distressed brick wall.
This is a quick and easy card to make and the banner would look great
against many different backgrounds.

SUPPLIES I USED ON MY PROJECT
Paper/Card Stock: Red CS, Vellum
Ink: Fresco - Medusa  White
Dies Used: Art-C  Thinking of You Stamp & Die Set, Recollections Lower case alphabet
Accessories: Bakers Twine , Sizzix Embossing Folder - Brick Wall, Stampendous Class A'peals Stickers (sparkly dots on the brick wall), Christmas word on the vellum banner - Stickers from Stamp On It, Brads

I am submitting my card in the following challenges

Friday, I will be back to share my challenge card.
Just as a tease, we were given a very small (and I mean very small) embroidery hoop
to use on the challenge project.
As soon as I saw the embroidery hoop I knew what I wanted to do.
OK, Enough hints
I will post that card on Friday, so stop back for an interesting card ....hehehe

Thanks for stopping in and I hope you liked my card I made for the Theme (Use a banner) project
I hope to see you on Friday

Boo to You

Hello
Hope your are having a great week so far.
Today is the 1st Tuesday of September and
over at Craft-Dee BowZ that means its Inspiration Tuesday.
Usually I post an inspiration piece on the 1st Tuesday
and the other designers post on a Tuesday throughout the month as well.

OK,  let me share with you my Tuesday inspiration piece.

This card design came about because of an art piece I saw at a home goods store.
It really appealed to me. (Obviously - LOL)

See that background paper??? That gray and white patterned paper.
Well I had some paper that was this design but it was pink not gray.
Well I put that DP in my copier and copied it as a B &W
and the B&W selection on the copier gave me exactly what I was wanting.
I trimmed it and used it as a layered piece over a dark gray cardstock.

My pumpkin is an old die from Accucut and it's still available.
It comes with eyes a nose and a mouth and a leaf.
I will use the other pieces some other time.
I cut the pumpkin out and then cut another center piece.
I used my paper shaper to shape the end parts of the pumpkin
and that extra center piece.
I added foam tape to the extra center piece and
attached it over that center area on the main pumpkin shape.
It gives the pumpkin dimension. I also inked the edges using gray ink.
I added a bow and this is the end result.

OK after I made that card, I thought that pumpkin would be cute on a handle bag.
Perfect to use that bag for Halloween Trick or Treating.
I decided to make a bag topper
Here is what this finished up as.

This looks so cute.
Same pumpkin - same background paper and I just mounted it on a extra large label shape
and added some pretty leaf ribbon .
I added a slit to that label shape and slid it down on the front bag handle.

You can see the slit and the fold spot right above the stem

SUPPLIES I USED ON MY PROJECT
Paper/Card Stock: DP copied to make gray/white. Orange CS, Black CS, Green CS
Ink: Memento - Gray Flannel
Dies Used: Recollections - Alphabet, Accucut - Pumpkin #5, Spellbinders- Grand labels Four

I am submitting my projects in the following challenges:

OK that's it for today.

Butterflies

Hello everyone and welcome to September

I thought I'd stop in and get the month started with my card
for the Craft-Dee BowZ September challenge.
September  means it's getting really, really close to the official start of fall
and it also means it's time to start another monthly challenge over at Craft-Dee BowZ.

This month's sponsor is Fred She Said

The prize offered by Fred She Said is
$10.00 gift certificate
Hope you can come and play - and you might be a winner.

I love butterflies (and who doesn't) and since we are wrapping up summer, I decided to use a swallowtail butterfly image on my card. To me, they are the last vestiges of summer.

Fred She Said has the prettiest butterfly image. So here is the card I came up with

This card was so fun to put together. Love the colors that I used on that butterfly.

My Bow was so easy to make since I used the Craft-Dee BowZ tool.
I just used some yellow satin ribbon and made a triple loop bow.
Easy peasy

If you are bow challenged and need an easy to use tool,
the Craft-Dee BowZ tool fits the bill, so
