It's another Happy Birthday

Welcome to November 1,  and also welcome to my blog.

Since it's November 1, it's time for the next challenge over at Love to Scrap.

I made a fun birthday card using a stamp I've had for a long time.

Do you ever look at an image and get a sense of what the finished project might look like??  Well with this card I decided to go with a watercolor look.

I used a few things to get the look I ended up with. I used some Wink of Stella, some Spectrum Noir Sparkle, Color Burst powders, and water for the watercolor effect.

My card is a 5"X7" which is my favorite size.

The stamp is 3 1/4"X 5 1/4" so that gave me room on the card base to add some strips for additional interest. I also added some peel off border stickers to add a little extra to the strips

products used:

  • Joy stamp - Art Gone Wild(Cling Stamp)
  • Staz-On - Black
  • watercolor paper
  • water
  • water brush
  • Wink of Stella
  • Spectrum Noir Sparkle
  • Color Burst powders
The Wink of Stella, Spectrum Noir Sparkle and the Color Burst powders worked great to give my card a water color look. So if you have those items sitting around collecting dust, get them out and put them to work.

Hope to see your card in the challenge. The challenge runs until Dec. 15, so you have plenty of time to get your card entered.

Well that is it for this card. Hope you were inspired to do a little water coloring.

Thanks for stopping in
See you soon

Seasons Greetings

Welcome back!!

Well it's November 1 and it's time for the newest challenge over at the Merry Little Christmas Challenge. The challenge runs til Dec 15.

Recently I received this die set from Spellbinders (Delivering Joy Sleigh) and thought it would be perfect for a Christmas card for the Merry Little Christmas Challenge.

I cut out the various pieces and assembled the sleigh. I also thought it would look great on a circle. I also used an embossing folder to give the circular background some additional interest.

The sentiment pops out a bit as the card is opened.
