    Winter Wishes

    Hi there
Thanks for stopping by today. This is the 3rd card from last Saturday's class.

I think this card is kind of classy.  Silver and gold embossed trees and some white snowflakes are the only stamped images on the panel.

I made my own corners out of gold card stock. I cut a square and then cut it diagonally. I then added a gold corner on two opposite corners and the sentiment was stamped and embossed  in gold on a label shape and that finishes this card off in no time.

You will notice that as I stamped the tree, I overlapped and changed the colors of the embossing powder as I went along. Stamp from one side to the other. (I started on the right and worked to the left.) I started with the gold tree, heated that one, next stamped 2 trees and embossed with silver. Then reverted back to gold and then back to silver for the last tree.

After the trees were done I stamped the snowflakes and used white embossing powder

The stamping was done on a black panel that was then attached to a cream card. The cream card seems to fade into the white background of this pic (sorry).

    SUPPLIES USED ON MY PROJECT

    Paper/Card Stock
    : Black CS, Cream CS
    Ink:VersaMark
    Dies Used: Spellbinders Labels One

    Have A Wonderful Christmas

    Hi there
    Welcome back to my blog.

In my last post I mentioned that I taught a class last Saturday and the cards were Christmas themed. Here is card number 2 from that class.

I used DP from SEI and I just love that it has a resist design built in. Coloring with a beautiful blue ink applied with a sponge applicator brings out that gorgeous design.

I popped that on a silver mirror panel and attached the panel to a blue CS.

Next I made a flap, this is used to open and close the card.

    Here is the card opened

The white panel inside hides most of the hinge piece. That scalloped circle has the sentiment on the front and I added a second scalloped circle on the backside, again to finish off the flap and hide the end of the hinge.

    SUPPLIES USED ON MY PROJECT
Stamps: Heartfelt Creations HCPC 3552 Bright Christmas
    Paper/Card Stock
: Blue CS, White CS, Silver Mirror CS, DP SEI

I am submitting this card in the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by today. Thursday, I will be showing my 3rd card from last Saturday's class. Hope you will be stopping back to take a peek.

    Have a great week

    Merry and Bright

    Hi Everyone,
Hope you are having a great weekend so far. As I sit writing this, it seems to be raining/storming again here in the Greater Cincinnati area. This has been the wettest summer in 144 years. Well my grass is green and the lawn guys are here every week to mow cause that grass is growing like crazy.

Saturday I held my regular monthly card class but since Simply Said Rubber Stamps, (the store where I teach) is celebrating Christmas in July, I taught 3 Christmas cards. So this week I will be sharing with you those three cards.

First up is this cute card.

Those white strips are glittery papers that the students made and then cut into 1/2" strips and applied diagonally to a card panel. I used a silver mirror card stock to cut the ovals. That sentiment is embossed directly on that silver card stock. (Sorry for the glare)  That cute penguin is stamped on white card stock, colored and then fussy-cut out and mounted directly on another silver oval. A little bakers twine as an accent and that card is ready to be sent.

    Believe

    Hello Everyone

    Thanks for stopping by today.

Thought I'd share with you a project that I designed a few weeks ago. I then offered this as a class and taught this in that class today. Since the store I teach at, Simply Said Rubber Stamps is celebrating Christmas In July, this project definitely fit the bill.

This 6"X8" panel can be used as a wall hanging or you could place on an easel and display on a table during the holidays. Also, think of this, giving this as a gift. WOW wouldn't that be an incredible gift, if you decide to part with it.(LOL)
I call this The Santa Panel.

Here is a closer view of the Santa image.

This is the best Santa stamp EVER. And it's available thru Verses Rubber Stamps. This Santa is one that you will use year after year and really never tire of him. I absolute LOVE this image.

OK let me share with you other components of the panel:

There are snowflake brads, a monocle with a star on it, some tickets and holly, berries and a twig.

I used silver mirror card stock to cut out the 25. Mounted on black card stock makes those numbers really stand out.

The fir branches and the pine cones are all handmade, using dies, and are cut out of card stock.

I had so much fun designing this panel. I also had fun teaching the students the how-to's  for the  pine cones, element placement, the bow etc. They liked this so much they want to do more panels for the different holiday/seasons of the year. So I am going to be having a blast going on a quest for components for a Halloween panel and a fall panel. This will be fun.

To see how the students did, click here. They are all just a little different.

I wanted to try out the bokeh technique, have you tried it yet??? Easy peasy.

That technique just reminds me of a happy celebration, so I used a birthday sentiment on this card.

    Just Flutterin' By

    Hi Everyone,

Well, we are 7 days into July, already. This month is flying by so fast and so is this year. Pretty soon we will be looking at Christmas cards and such. I already have a class scheduled this month for Christmas cards. I will be sharing those cards with you after the class is held.

Over at Craft-Dee BowZ, the theme this month for the designers  is "Out of Shape - No Square or Rectangle Card". Boy that really opens the gates up pretty wide. Well I took the easy way out I guess. I made a circular easel card.

A few things you will see on this card are items I  have had in my stash for a while but have never used, Time to get them out and use them. When I decided on a butterfly then a few things just came together.

Let me share with you this card:

    Here is the card closed

And here is the card, opened

Here is a closer view of the inside sentiment.

    A close-up of the bow.
I just made a double loop bow for this card..
I used two stamp sets from My Sentiments Exactly. I used the lines and swirls to make my background, it was perfect for the background. I also used another My Sentiments Exactly set for my sentiment and that smaller typed butterfly shape.

I have to address that large butterfly. That was made using a Tim Holtz die, Fanciful Flight. I also used some papers that I made a while back, using my Gelli Plate. After looking at the black cutouts of the butterfly wings, I thought of my Gelli Plate papers. Thought they might be the perfect paper to use as the background for the wings. Let me show you,

This is just a pull from left overs from other Gelli Plate designs.
This will make a great background for a card.

OK let me show you this paper with a wing sitting on it

If you move the wing around you will get a slightly different effect for the wing background.
So that's how the butterfly came to be.

OK all you Gelli Plate lovers  start using those sheets you are hoarding.

Stop in next Tuesday at the Craft-Dee BowZ blog for a post by Vicki.
I wonder what she has in store for us???

    Never Never Land

    Hello Everyone,

Thanks for stopping in today. Today I want to share a card with you that I made for Verses Rubber Stamps.  I played with watercolors on a sheet of watercolor paper and then cut it into strips. Those strips of watercolor paper were placed to make the background design.

I love the yellows and the pinks and peaches that are on the strips, they look great together.
I used two markers to make the ribbon the color I needed to match my card.

The sentiment I used is from Verses Rubber Stamps and I just love the sentiment selection they have.
They have a whole host of categories with so many Verses to choose from.
Click here to go to the shopping area of their site. I am sure you will find just the right sentiment you need for your project.
