Craft Dee BowZ Challenge for October

Hi Everyone,
If you are looking for the Sparkle N Sprinkle Challenge and Reveal post click here.

I'm so glad you stopped by today.Welcome to my post for my project for the October Craft-Dee BowZ Challenge.

Since its October  are you decorating for Halloween? What a fun time for the kids, getting dressed up, carving pumpkins, eating candy!!! Oh yes, there are the Halloween costume parties for the grown-ups as well.

Since we are getting ready for Halloween, here is a cute card ready to be sent. Hey!!, wouldn't this make a cute Halloween party invitation!!!

This pumpkin is so cute and it's a favorite of mine. I decided to dress the card up with purple Prima flowers. Those sparkly leaves are made from vellum, colored with markers  and then I added glitter to the vein areas and  and I can't forget....there's the purple and black bow. I used 2 different ribbons and love how it turned out. That purple ribbon is really spectacular, it has glitter already on it, plus it's wired (my favorite kind of ribbon) so it really made a fabulous bow.

Here's a closer view of that bow. And I used my Craft-Dee BowZ to make it.

Just a glimpse of the sparkly leaf and some of those Prima Flowers that I layered with orange glitter added to the centers.

The Craft-Dee BowZ challenge for October has begun and it would be great to see your project over on their blog as an entry. And you can submit anything, doesn't need to be a Halloween project. The theme is always Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow.Click here to go over to the Craft-Dee BowZ blog and send us your submission.

I will be back tomorrow with my normal 1st Tuesday of the month post for Craft-Dee BowZ , one day later this month. Hope you stop back 'cause I have something really cute to show you.

Wintertime

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick post. This tag is using stamps from an older Unity stamp set, Wintertime Let it Snow.

While making this tag I decided to do this one in shades of blue.

Winter..... it makes me think of ice skating, snowflakes, snowmen and many other images that pop into my mind.

Snowmen are so cute and fun!!!

Here is a closer shot of that poinsettia. I just used silvery blue shimmery CS  for the main bracts and instead of green leaves, I opted for white leaves. Added some glitter and here is my interpretation of a blue poinsettia.

Every Artist

Hi everyone and welcome back!!!And welcome to my new followers, too.

Recently I mentioned how orange is not one of my fav colors. LOL Well I guess I might have to eat my words. You'll see in a minute!! Now I guess that means I can wear those orange pants, but I am going to limit my wearing to Halloween. Otherwise I might be mistaken as an orange Popsicle. LOL

OK let me share a quick little project I made. And it has shades of ORANGE!!!, OH MY!!! imagine that. Well after all it's fall now!! LOL

I made a tag and it started out as white CS.  Next I stamped the verse and the image and then I sponged on all of the fall colors (.See, orange is in that tag.)  Next I cut a few leaves using vellum. I sponged inks made my bow and put it all together. I photographed it and was writing this post and I looked at those leaves and decided they needed something. Well you know what that means, time to add something to finish those leaves off. I got out some glitter and defined the veins and it was just what was needed. You be the judge.

Here is the same tag and the only thing I did was to glitter the veins on the leaves.

Those leaves look like leaves, now.

Here are the items I used:
inks: Memento- Cantaloupe, Desert Sand, New Sprout, Morocco, Olive Grove, Peanut Brittle, - Distressed Inks - Fired Brick
CS: White, Vellum
Spellbinders Dies: S4-158 Sunflower Set Two & S4-157 Sunflowers Set One (leaf from each set)
Stamps: Unity - Imagine It ( DD-706)
Sponge Dauber
Glue pen
Glitter - Sparkle N Sprinkle  Parisian Mist glitter - G1037
Ribbon ( from my stash)
Bow Making tool - Craft-Dee BowZ

Well thanks a lot for stopping in today.Have a great week!!

Just a Note

Hi Everyone,
Hope you had a great weekend. I sure did. The weather in my area is really spectacular right now and looks like it going to be a great week!!!

Recently, I saw a card on Pinterest and thought I saved it. I guess I didn't because I can't find it and I wanted to give credit to this person for my inspiration. Her card really caught my eye and I just wanted to try something like it.

Here is my rendition of her fabulous card.

Stamped circular dots are from an Inkadinkado (Circles and Dots -97631) set I have
Sentiment (Tulips set #491) and glitter are from Sparkle N Sprinkle
Circle cut out shapes - Spellbinders S4-116
Bow made using the Craft-Dee BowZ  bow maker tool

Well hope you have a great week. I am going to meet a friend for dinner this evening, she's in town for a few days on business.

Thanks for stopping in and I will be back soon.

What Lies Behind Us

Hi Everyone
Today I got into a "clean out" mode. I went thru 2 very deep drawers and pitched out stuff that I hadn't used in years. It's time to "thin the herd". I also have finally decided on storing all (OK most) of my dies in envelopes and have the envelopes in Card Keepers by Iris, so far this is working great for me. Next I've started on putting all my stamps in order and getting those organized as well. So far so good!!!

For the last few days I've worked on this card, off and on. It's a side step card and I used a new branch die I just received. Even though we are going into fall, I decided to add spring looking flowers to the branches (I used 3 branches).

Just thought two sentiments were a perfect compliment for the card .

Well ...hope you enjoy your day.
I have to finish a project!!
Thanks for stopping in and see you soon,

A Little Bird

Hi Everyone

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Just bought a cute stamp set from Woodware Craft Collection and it contains 3 different birds and 2 sentiments that work together. This is such a great set!!!

I decided to use a center step card that I had cut earlier today. This card will fit in a A-2 envelope.

The three different birds in this set all have circles on their bodies. So I decided to use an embossing powder just on those areas to add some visual interest. That DP I used in the center panel area, has some pink swirly areas and I just added glitter to give that area more definition and to catch one's eye.

I added some pearl swirls to the side panels which  picked up the swirl design on the DP paper and tied both areas together.

Love this cute bird set, hope you do too.

I am entering my project in the following 10 challenges:

Thanks for stopping in today, Have a great week

The Wedding Invitation

Hi Everyone!!

In my last post I shared with you a Bridal Shower card that I made that accompanied my gift at a bridal shower I recently attended.

I want to share the wedding invitation that I also made for the bride.

Morgan wanted to have her married name initial on the belly band that keeps the invitation closed.

I got the card shell and the layered inside done for her. Morgan took care of the wording and the printing inside.

The inside of this invitation has a two piece graduated insert and Morgan added a vellum overlay with the information printed on it,

She did an awesome job.
I love how Morgan decided on using the ampersand under the vellum. It lightly shows thru the vellum and it's the perfect  finishing touch
I've lifted the vellum piece so you could see that printed ampersand on the cream layered piece.

As I mentioned in the post of the bridal shower card ,posted Thursday, Morgan chose the colors purple, gray and cream. The invitations used those colors and I made  the shower to match also. I have a card in mind for the wedding card that I will be giving her on her wedding day. I will post that after the wedding in October.
Guess I'd better get started on that card.
The wedding will be here before I know it.

Thanks for stopping in today so I could share a few special cards that I've done lately.

See you soon

Bridal Shower

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for stopping in today!

I was invited to a Bridal Shower recently and made  a darling card for the bride-to-be. I saw this design over at  Pinterest, however, when I tried to go back to the original post, Pinterest just took me to the picture not the original post. So I can't give credit for the design where it is justly due.

The bride's colors are a rich purple and a beautiful gray. These colors pair up very well especially with the cream card stock..

I wanted to give her an elegant card and I think this came out just the way I envisioned it!!

A close up view of the cake with the swirly icing.
I printed the sentiment from my computer and added a swirl for the finishing touch.

When Morgan (the bride-to-be) opened the card she loved it. That made my day.

Her shower was lovely and she received many, many gifts. She was thrilled with all the thoughtful gifts that she received. She will be getting married in 4 weeks. And she's getting nervous, I'm sure.

Stop back Saturday so I may share the wedding invitations that I made for her.
Thanks for stopping by,

Birthday Blessings

Hi Everyone
Its time for my regular monthly Craft-Dee BowZ post. Did you have a wonderful Labor Day weekend??? I sure did. Now it's time to get back in the swing of things, back to work, back to the normal routine.

Normally I am not a big fan of orange, but my tastes must be changing 'cause in the last two posts I used orange. And here I go again today with more orange. LOL  That's OK, I guess I am in ushering the fall season, with my choice of orange colors on these cards lately.

I had some Tri Shutter cards cut and ready to finish and I decided to use one of those for my card today.

I used my Craft-Dee BowZ tool to make the bow for this card. And you know, I always say this, that tool is easy to use and it lets me make fabulous bows every time. I opted for a double loop bow for this card. I really didn't want the bow to over power the side of the card. Did you notice that I layered the green ribbon down the center of that wide yellow ribbon. What a great effect.

I used one of my blank tri shutter cards to decorate.I added stamped images and gorgeous designer paper to really make that card come to life.
This first pic shows the card closed.

These tri-shutter cards are so fun to decorate, because there are so many areas to work with.

I love the fact that they will stand on their own and show themselves off. LOL

The pic below is a view from the right looking to the left
The sentiment is positioned in the center.

I added 3 flowers to the right side of the card.

That butterfly is the perfect addition to the front area.

Craft-Dee BowZ has their monthly challenge going on right now. Hope you enter, you could be the next winner of the bow maker. Click here and go to the Monthly Challenge  tab at the top of their blog to check out the challenge blog and all the details.

Check out CreativeEssences, my Etsy store, for blank tri shutter cards, as well as a few other blank card designs that are not always easy to cut with a craft knife.
(Let me help you make your card making a little easier.)

Hope you have a great week, see you soon,
