Merry Little Christmas Challenge - 2023 January - February

Welcome to 2023!!!! WOW last year flew by didn't it??? I felt like I slept thru it!! (LOL)

It's time for the first Merry Little Christmas Challenge of 2023 and the theme is always Christmas

I love christmas cards and tags and bag toppers and everything Christmas. So even though we have left the 2022 Christmas holiday I am already thinking about 2023.  This design was what I had in mind for my Merry Little Christmas Challenge project, and I needed a tag for the stamp club I belong to. For our Christmas meeting we were asked to bring a Christmas tag for each of the members. We all take home 1 tag from each member. So the tag I designed for this project was perfect for the tag I needed for my club's Christmas dinner.

This is easy to make and is a perfect accent for that gift you will be giving in 2023.

A red oval, a smaller gold oval, a poinsettia and a holly swirl, some ribbon and some pearls. Makes for a cool tag with room on the back to write the To/From info.

Love To Scrap Challenge - January & February 2023

 Hello All

Time for the first Love To Scrap Challenge for 2023.

I know we all have looked at bookoo cards with a Christmas theme so as I was going thru my scraps folder, and yes I do go thru my scraps for this challenge, I decided to focus on Valentines Day.  I spread out some of my scraps and a few jumped out at me. Here is a pic of some of my scraps.

So I narrowed my die cut scraps down and here is the card I finally designed using some of the scraps that were in a few of my scrap bags.(Notice I said a few)

This will make a darling Valentine's Day card. (IMHO)

Save those unused die cuts, you never know when it will work for an upcoming card.

Birthstone Challenge - January & February 2023

Hello and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Can you believe we are in 2023.... HOLY COW!!!

Have you heard!!??!! There is a new challenge out in blogland starting today. It's  Birthstone Challenges-  and I am on the design team. And I think you will love this challenge!!

Here is the breakdown - Challenge starts on the 1st every other month. Jan. March, May, July, Sept. Nov. and will end on the 15th of the following month. So the challenge lasts a month and a half.

Birthstones for the 1st challenge are Garnet and/or Amethyst.

Now since my birthday is in February I am using the Amethyst color but I have also made another card using the Garnet color, the January birthstone.

Since January is the first month let me share that card first. I made my card using a garnet colored card stock as the focal point

I decided to carry over the red color into the image. And what better image to use than a cardinal. I used some outline sticker borders to just add additional interest to the garnet colored strips

OK

Lets move on to the February birthstone color - Amethyst (my birthstone)/Purple

For the background paper on this card I used a pretty DP that has swirls of color mainly purple on it.  Kind reminds me of a marbled look and to add some additional interest I randomly added some gold embossing powder.

I stamped a pretty flower on vellum and used white embossing powder. I fussy cut the flowers and glued them to the card. Next I stamped that same flower onto purple CS and used white embossing
powder. I fussy cut that flower out as well and popped it up between the center of the two vellum flowers. I used gold glitter on the flower center.
