It's Your Happy Day

Hello and TGIF.(I know, Friday is almost over, as I post this)

Another week almost over and a new month starts next week. Geez, where have I been!! Six months til Christmas, the time is screaming by. I guess I better start getting my Christmas cards ready. Otherwise I will be behind the eight-ball. LOL

Well I have another card using my Heartfelt Creations Clematis stamps/dies/molds. I think this will be the last Clematis card for a while. I have some new butterfly stamps coming next week. And who doesn't like butterflies!!

I was looking in a stamping mag and saw this card style and thought the Clematis stamps might look great in this card design. This card was called a Braced Aperture Card in the magazine but it's also known as a tent fold card.

Lets take a peek at my finished card!!

card front

Side view

This card does not open up, so any message you might want to add along with your signature,  will have to go on the back of the card. I added a brace to the bottom of the card. It gives the card the ability to stand open and it doesn't sag.(You can see that brace in the 2nd pic) I made a lattice background from scraps of CS and attached it to the inside back of the card. I stamped and colored the birdhouse, the individual blooms, the birds and the viny leaves, ran the blooms and the leaves thru their individual molds and attached the images onto the lattice. The images are on the inside and the front of the card, and since there is a circle cutout on the front, the scene is always able to be seen and looks very dimensional.

I added a holographic frame to the circle to draw your eye to the circle and the scene inside the circle.

For a Faithful Friend

Hey There!!! Hello everyone,

Hope your week has been good to you so far and hope your weekend will be a fun one.

I want to share with you a cool card. It's a triple tier slider card. And I used some scraps that were sitting on my desk.

I used some Heartfelt Creations Clematis Blooms and I also used the trellis image that is on one of the paper sheets in their paper pack. This card has a WOW factor (IMHO) and I hope you enjoy this card.

Here is the card closed

and here is the card, opened

I love the Clematis Blooms collection and it seemed to be a great fit for a slider card.

Oh BTW, I used the Heartfelt Creations leafy accents stamps and die and mold. I think those leaves are the perfect size for my blooms.

Thinking of You

Welcome Back,

I thought I'd pop in to share a fun design (kind of new to me)  and its really easy to make.

I've seen it called the  Corner Angle Pop Up Card and I saw this somewhere online, so I thought I'd make a few .

I recently received stamps, dies and papers from Heartfelt Creations, and the February release has daffodils and hyacinth flowers in the release. Perfect for  spring cards and I think spring flower cards are perfect to get us out of the winter doldrums and into thoughts of spring.

The spray of daffodils was perfect for this card design. Perfect for that folded corner. BTW, I made this card into a 5"X7" card

Here is my card:

With Thanks

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for stopping in today. I thought I'd start sharing my cards from a stamp club I belong to.
We meet once a month and we make a card based on a predetermined theme and we bring it to the meeting.(The themes are decided upon at the beginning of the year. ) We also make another card using something that has been given to us to use at  the previous meeting. And boy, sometimes the things we are given to use are really interesting and challenging,
which is why we call that card/project the challenge project.

The card that I am sharing with you today has the challenge items given to us at last months meeting.
We can use the items on a card or anything else we can come up with. We all get the same thing to use but we all come up with really different designs.

We were all given bread ties. You know, those plastic things rectangle or square,
that hold the bread bag closed.

This was a tough one for me.

Well, I finally came up with something.

The white rectangle shaped items on this card are those bread ties. I added some lines and dots (I used alcohol markers) to jazz them up a tad and added nestled flowers in them.

The challenge sure does make you think outside the box sometimes.

Patchwork Blooms

Hello Everyone

Today I am back with a great adornment for the plain ol' gift bag we all use from time to time.
We all get busy and when it's gift giving time,
sometimes we just add the gift to a bag, add a little tissue for that fru fru look and we give it.
Well I like to make bag toppers.
They dress up the bag and add some personality to that plain bag.

I sell a lot of my cards and other paper craft items at a local shop,
L&M Busy Hands Craft & Gift Shop in Ft Mitchell,
and this bag topper will be down there Friday.
I will be bringing 2 others as well.
Similar, but the pocket color will be either orange, pink, or blue.

I thought this topper would look great on a kraft colored gift bag,
 what do you think.

Here is a closer view of the pocket image on the bag topper.

My bag topper itself is scalloped and is a die that I have had for eons.
It is from Accucut but unfortunately is no longer available.

I have gotten a lot of use out of that die,
and will continue to use it to make unique bag toppers

I just love my bag toppers.

The flowers and the pocket on the bag topper are from
the Patchwork Daisy papers and stamps and dies from Heartfelt Creations.

Thank You

Hello Everyone and welcome back to my blog!!!

Today is the 1st Tuesday of the month,
and it's the start of March's weekly Tuesday inspirations over at Craft-Dee BowZ.
I am slotted for the 1st Tuesday of each month

On our Tuesday posts we can present whatever.
It just has to have a bow on it.

I decided on a spring look with a hand cut trellis look
down the center

Here is my card.

The trellis is hand cut. The vines/flowers are from the Heartfelt Creations Patchwork Collection.
I colored the sprigs and gave them a slight shape and attached them to the card front, weaving them in and out of the open areas of the trellis.
For some added bling I added gold sequins to the flower centers.

My bow - it's a triple loop bow and its a light purple and is a perfect compliment to the flowers.
It's so easy to make a bow using the Craft-Dee BowZ tool.
It comes with instructions and there are video's for those who like to "see" how to make the bows.

Thinking of You

Hello Everyone.
Whew, this month is quickly coming to a close and I wanted to show you this card before it gets any later.

My bow was made using my Craft-Dee BowZ tool.

Using that tool made it so easy to use the pink satin ribbon I had on hand.

This tool is the only tool I ever use to make all the bows you see here on my site.
This tool is easy to use, small and easy to store, is portable and there are a lot of videos to guide you thru the bow making process if you are a visual learner. (like me)
It does come with instructions as well.
Need one?? Click here to order yours over on the Craft-Dee BowZ site (it's on the left sidebar).

Recently I received a new stamp/die set from Heartfelt Creations, the Camelia Carnations.
I stamped the carnation flowers, used the dies to cut them out and also used the flower press to give them shape (personality as I call it)
So I decided that besides the bow and the clock, some handmade flowers would be a great accent.
These turned out perfect.

Also, the leaves turned out to be the perfect size to use as the hands on the clock.
(Check that out above in the first picture)

I am submitting my card to the following challenges:

Well, that's it for now. I will be back Thursday with another project for Craft-Dee BowZ.

In the meantime, have a great week!!!

Christmas Wishes

Hi Everyone and welcome back!!

I thought I'd share with you a Christmas card that is fun to make and really makes a statement.

The die cut tree is attached to give a 3-D look. Cut 3 trees. Score down the center on all trees and fold. Using Glossy Accents, attach the underside of right side of 1st tree to the underside of left side of 2nd tree. Attach the underside of right side of 2nd tree to the underside of the left side of the 3rd tree. Attach the underside of the left side of tree and the underside of the right side of tree on top of the white lattice.(I sure hope this description make sense)

Now your tree has a 3-d effect.

Well I know I don't need to remind you, Halloween will be here Friday and that means Christmas is going to be here before we all know it. (I know you don't want to hear that. LOL) You know that holiday sneaks up on all of us, every year!! Are you getting ready?? Have you started on your cards??

OK get ready for the kids and their begging. See you soon

A Pumpkin Patch

Hi Stampers,
I wanted to share with you a card I made a few weeks back. I learned how to make this card a long time ago. Years ago!!!It is super easy to make but you can't just pop it in an envelope and mail it, it has too much volume. It really should go in a box. I call this design "The Pocket Card". I hope you like it.

I plan on making a video showing how to make this card but it will be a few weeks before I can get to that. So as soon as I get that done I will let you all know and you can see how his card is made. This type of card would make a great Christmas scene

I built this scene using stamps from Heartfelt Creations. As you can see, this card will stand on its own.

That's all I have for you right now. I am going to leave you somewhat intrigued but I will start on the video.

Hope you have a great start to your week. Stop back Wednesday for Art Impressions inspiration.

Favorite Technique

Hi Stampers,

What is your favorite technique?? Well, mine is using alcohol inks and to be honest I haven't used this technique for a while. So I went thru some of my Art Impressions stamps and decided to use this one tree I have, that's one of my fav's.I am imagining seeing this tree on the African plain at sunset.

Please make sure to check out the AI Challenge blog   this week. The theme is favorite technique and if you play along, you have the chance to win a $10 gift certificate from AI. There is a new winner each week.
