Once upon a Springtime

Hello Everyone,

Had my monthly card class over at Simply Said Rubber Stamps yesterday. Everyone enjoyed themselves.

Let me share one of the cards from the class.

Quite a bit of layers and various different DP's adds a lot of interest to a card. The fairy is darling and we used Wink Of Stella to add just the right amount of shimmer to the image and the saying.

If you haven't tried Wink of Stella yet, you must try it. I suggest starting out with the clear. It will add shimmer to your color and it really adds just the right accent.

Thank You

Hello Everyone,
Hope you are having a wonderful crafty Sunday.

Last Wednesday I left to go to Stampaway.I had a busy few days and by the time Friday nite rolled around for the preview party, my get up and go was gone.

For those of you unfamiliar with Stampaway, it is a rubber stamp convention, held in Sharonville Ohio, a northern suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio. Stampaway just celebrated it 22nd show and it was a great one with over 40+ vendors. It is always a very large show.

I took 2 great classes and helped Janet Winkle with one of  her Stampscapes classes and did M&T's at various times at the Simply Said Rubber Stamps store. Had a blast.

On Saturday I went back to Stampaway and bought a few stamps and ran into old friends and did a M&T at the Stamp On It booth. I just fell in love with this. Let me share with you the card I made.

Here is a close up of the daisies. This shows off the glitter better, especially the glitter on that yellow daisy.

The image is printed on acetate and it was precut for us. They have a great selection of Art Acetate We used a super fine nib and outlined the flower and the ribbon using 3-D Crystal Lacquer. We did this on the printed side. Then we added the glitter. After finishing that, we mounted the acetate print side down onto the card components. Next, working now on the front of the acetate, I outlined the white daisy, again using the 3D Crystal Lacquer, then added the white glitter. To finish it off I used Outline Sticker to the corners to hold the acetate in place, added the sentiment and also added that border

What a lovely card this is.

Well Stampaway is now a memory and only about 51 weeks to the next one.LOL I always look forward to Stampaway. If you are ever in the Greater Cincinnati area the 2nd weekend of August and if you like stamping then plan on attending. You won't be sorry.

The August Craft-Dee BowZ Blog Hop

Hello Everyone and welcome to my blog.

If you arrived here from Rebecca's blog then you have arrived at the right spot, if not, you may want to start at the Craft-Dee BowZ blog to see all the fabulous projects in the hop and to be eligible to win a prize.

I am the last designer in the blog hop. I hope you've had fun. The designers have really presented spectacular projects for the men in our lives. Seems that we need to make things for them from time to time!! Hope we've given you all some great ideas for your projects that you may have coming up.

Here is my project for your viewing pleasure.

The panel I made for my card utilized metallic tape you find in the hardware store. It is used primarily to seal duct work. It's metallic and also sticky on one side. This turns out to be a great element to use in card making and other craft projects as well.

I attached the tape to card stock and trimmed it to the size I needed for my panel. I then used an embossing folder to add the design. Plus, in using the design I chose, you don't see the seams of the tape, since the tape is only 2" wide.

Adding the cog embellishments continued with the masculine theme. Finally I had a stamp set that really is perfect for a masculine theme and stamping on striped DP in the brown tone ink, really ties everything together..

My bow - since most bows are pretty frilly, I just made a single loop bow to keep the tone on the masculine side. That ribbon is a beautiful chocolate brown sheer ribbon, so yummy, even if it is for a guy card.

I use the best bow maker - The Craft-Dee BowZ tool,  to make all my bows.
This tool will assist you in making the best bows.

Just For You

Hi Everyone,

How are you doing today?? Hope you are having a wonderful day.

Today is my post day for Craft-Dee BowZ. This month the theme for the designers is masculine. Those seem to be difficult cards to come up with for some reason. LOL

The card I made uses a stamp that I have had for eons and will probably love it til I die. The stamp is from Great Impressions and it's still available.

Isn't that birdie too cute!!
My bow is just a single loop bow, and to make it somewhat different, after the bow was finished,  I just pulled on one of the loops and that made the bow lopsided, which is exactly the look I wanted. Let me show you a closer view.

The ribbon I used is a very nice heavier cloth ribbon, like a herringbone ribbon, and is better suited for a single loop bow, perfect for this theme and card.

Craft-Dee BowZ has the best bow making tool around!! If you don't own one you may want to check out the videos to see how easy it is to make a bow using the tool and then order one for your very own. You won't regret it!!

Before I forget, I hope you stop back Thursday for the Craft-Dee BowZ bi-monthly blog hop. Stop and comment on all the designers blogs along the way and that will put you in the running for a prize give away of a Craft-Dee BowZ tool of your own.The prize will be awarded on Saturday.

Everything is Better

Happy August!!
WOW August is here.....  school starts in some areas, summer is on the wane, Stampaway Convention is taking place in a few days in Cincinnati, ah yes, I can continue but you are here to see a card not to hear a list of what August brings. LOL

The 1st of the month brings a new challenge over at Craft-Dee BowZ. The challenge theme is always Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow.You have the whole month to get your project completed and uploaded on the monthly challenge page over at Craft-Dee BowZ. We'd all love to see your submission and you could be our next winner.

For a little inspiration, I've made a masculine card and decided to use a single loop bow. I felt that a single loop bow is a better type bow for a man card.

Let me share my card with you.

That bow is made using a sheer ribbon. One of the best ribbons to use to make a bow IMHO.

Craft-Dee BowZ has the best bow making tool. It assists you in making single and multi-loop ribbon bows. It can also assist you in making a Washi Tape bow, tassels, wire flowers. WOW what a great list of different options. Check out the various Craft-Dee BowZ videos

If you haven't done so yet, please "like" Craft-Dee BowZ  on their Facebook page to keep up with the latest designers posts and to see whats new.
