I'm back with a new card. This card is perfect for Valentine's Day or a birthday or some other occasion you might think of, depending on the sentiment you use.
I decided on a birthday theme since a good friend had a birthday coming up and I decided this card would be a great card to give her.
My card came to be because of some heart lace that was sent to me.
I worked on this card from the inside to the outside.
I started with a 6"X6" card base in light pink.
Next, on top of the pink base I added a white panel 5 3/4" X 5 3/4"
(This becomes the inside of the card on the right side,
because there will be a panel that covers the right side
and that smaller panel becomes the front of the card.)
The next step was to place 3 hearts on the left side of the card.
(These hearts came connected as you are seeing them on the card.)
Next, I cut a white panel 7" X 3" and scored at the 6" mark.
I used a corner punch on the 4 corners of this piece.
This will become the front of the card.
It's a 1/2 of a front because I wanted the hearts to always be seen
whether the card was closed or open.
I decided to use some old dies and layered them up on that small piece that will be the card front.
Those layered die cutouts turned out to the perfect spot to place my bow.
The panel piece on the right (it's the piece that holds the die cuts and the bow)
opens to reveal the sentiment
Next, I attached that card front panel to the card base.
That right side panel piece has the fold at the top so it opens from the bottom up,
to reveal that sentiment.
Here is a close-up front view of the right side
My bow was made using the Craft-Dee BowZ tool and I think it's the best bow maker on the market.
(To order, click the link above and the ordering spot is on the left sidebar.)
I used Hug Snug (seam binding) and sprayed it wtih some shimmer spray
to get just the right pink color.
After I made the bow, I added some small flowers to add more interest to the card front.
Here is the card opened up revealing the sentiment on the inside.
I layered a pink piece of CS piece and another die cut using white CS on the right side of the card, right next to the lace hearts. Stamping the sentiment on the die cut was a perfect spot.
Because when that front panel closes it hides the sentiment
Hope you are inspired to make a card that is just a little different.
