Thinking of You

Do you believe it!!! It's March 1 and you know that means its time for the latest challenge over at

Hope you can join in the fun and submit one of you creative makes. We'd love to see your project.

When I was deciding on what to design for this card, (I guess I was in a pink mood. LOL),
and since I have a lot of scraps. I went to my pink drawer and found lots of pink scraps that worked together.
I cut strips 1/4" wide and started to lay them down on a white card layer. Since my card is 5X7, my top layer is 4 3/4" X 6 3/4"

I also had a die cut out on my desk that worked with the card and the strips
so I added that to the card front.

The flowers were made using pink CS (what else LOL) and a hand punch. The leaves also were made using a few punches as well.

Pink reminds me of spring and this card can fit that bill. Pink, flowers and leaves.
Yep and spring is right around the corner.

Well that is it for this card. I love how it turned out.

CHALLENGES ENTERED

Hope this gives you some inspiration and hope you will try this one out.

Thanks for stopping by and I will see you soon.

Another Birthday Card for You

Hello and welcome to a new month and the new challenge over at Love To Scrap. This challenge goes til April 15 so there is plenty of time to get your project made and submitted.

Here is my DT project for this challenge.

Well I don't know about you but I use lots of saved things on my cards and this card is no exception. If it didn't make it on one card, chances are it will get used on a card in he future. LOL The center stamped image and the sentiment are from Spellbinders BetterPress Letterpress system. And I really love this system. The plates get inked up and then I ran it thru my Big Shot machine. The plates deboss the paper and leave a super crisp image that you can then color. I used some watercolor to color the image.  Those swirl flower and leaves in the corners, they are from a tile that I got at Dollar Tree. I used part of the tile and had these left over so I put them in my scrap box. Well, when I made this card I needed something for the corners and I liked the way these looked on the card  and they were the right size so I used them.

As I mentioned earlier the Love To Scrap challenge has begun and will be running til April 15. So you have plenty of time to make a project and submit it.  I would love to see your project.

I hope I have inspired you and I will be back soon with another project.

Love To Scrap Challenge - March & April

Hi there!!! Thanks for stopping in today.

The Love to Scrap Challenge has started and will continue til April 12. So you have about a month and a half to join in and submit your project!!

I have an oldie but goodie technique to share with you today using some of my scraps. Since I have boatloads of scrap paper, I decided to dust off this technique called Iris Folding. This technique uses paper (NOT CARD STOCK) I used 4 different paper designs. I used 12 " long paper and cut it 1" wide. You can use shorter strips but you will need more strips of the designs. You fold the strips down the center on the long side. You lay down the strips over the pattern and tape them down and in about 5 minutes your design is done. Easy to do and is goes pretty quick. I chose to use a very simple circle pattern, but there are many designs out there and books are still available with many cute designs as well. This technique was popular in the early 2000's

I used an embossing folder to add a design to the white CS and added a circle frame to accent the Iris Fold design itself. The peel off corner stickers and the sentiment finish this card off and it's ready to mail.

Don't forget, this challenge runs til April 12 .You can check out the other designers cards, read the guidelines and enter your project here. I'd love to see  your entry.

Hope you enjoyed this oldie but goodie called Iris Folding
Thanks for stopping in and I hope to see you soon
