Welcome back. It's March 1 and time for the next Merry Little Christmas challenge.
I decided to make a card design that was introduced to me many many, many moons ago. It's an envelope box card. Fun to make and really makes a statement to the recipient
This is a card that would be difficult to mail but you could add it to a gift bag to WOW the recipient along with their gift.
The card is really a box with about a 1/4" thick.
The flap that you normally close to mail stays upright so it looks like its an open envie.
I added some clear wrapping paper and some tulle in the opening of the box as a filler.
(Hope you can see it in the pic below.)
Next I made flowers using Heartfelt poinsettias stamps and dies.
You can see that it is attached to a clear plastic strip.
In order to have the flowers and the holly that you see, stand upright, I attached them to plastic I save from packaging.
I save the packaging and cut strips to hold the flowers, leaves or whatever I want to appear to be standing. Since the plastic packaging strips are clear, they disappear into the design.
After attaching the flowers and the holly to the clear plastic strips I slide them in front of the tulle and the clear gift wrap.
The holly I used is actually a ribbon from May Arts wrapped around those plastic strips that I cut. In the pic below you can see some of the tulle.
I also added some glitter to a few of the plastic strips for added pizzaz
Again, here is the finished card. Hope you enjoyed this cool creation
