Crafty Creations Challenges - 324

Hello everyone
Thanks for stopping in today.
Today is the beginning of the new challenge over at Crafty Creations Challenges.

The theme is For The Home.
(I had to think for a while before coming up with something for this theme.)

The Sponsor for this challenge is -  Fresh Brewed Designs.

Here is a little info about Fresh Brewed Designs

Hello, I am Heather Dennis, the Owner and Artist at Fresh Brewed Designs.  I try to make sure I  put God first in my life.  I am so blessed beyond all I deserve.  I have an amazing husband who supports and loves me more than anything.  We lead praise and worship together in church. I home school two of the best kids in the world.

Here is a little about our shop:

Fresh Brewed Designs is a small online company that has been offering a wide variety of digital and rubber stamps since November, 2010 designed to meet the needs of paper crafting addicts everywhere!  With over 30 categories to choose from and new additions each month, our range of products is expanding all the time.
We would love for you to visit our blog and facebook pagewhere creativity is brewed fresh daily.

I mentioned I had to about this for a while to come up with a project.
Well I had something here all along,
it was just waiting for some adornment.

I've had this perpetual calendar for some time. But it has never been decorated, never used.  So I decided to show this  and I chose a cute pair of snowmen
and decided to use that image for the January page.

This calendar  has a sheet for each month  with a blank spot at the top to decorate and it also gives you the capability to note a persons name next to the day of the month. Each sheet has 31 numbered lines. This is a perfect reminder for birthdays and anniversaries or anything that happens on the same date of the month each year. And the great thing is you use it over and over, You flip the page over as you begin a new month. It becomes a darling and creative reminder you use year after year.

Here is a close up view of the top section that I decorated.
I used Frosty Hugs and Kisses
the perfect image for the month of January

I added glitter to the snowmen and added a bit of a sky with some glittered falling snowflakes.
A few glittery snowflakes by the month name and at the bottom
finish off this cute reminder for the month of January.

Just think, I have 11 more pages to decorate
Hmm... Maybe I will do a new page every month til I finish the calendar.
OK I have January finished already so I will start on the February page in Feb and complete the individual pages in their corresponding month. So be on the lookout for this ongoing starting February.. This will be so much fun.

BTW, this hangs in my kitchen on the side of my refrigerator, close to a regular calendar.
The perfect spot.

Food and Drink - New post at Crafty Creations Challenges

Hello and thanks for stopping in today

The Crafty Creations Challenges has started their new challenge and the theme this time is Something to Eat or Drink. This challenge is a 2 week challenge so you have time to get your creation made and submitted. We are looking forward to seeing your submission.

The sponsor for this challenge is  Fresh Brewed Designs
They have a wonderful selection of digital images to choose from. Please check them out

Since the theme is Something to Eat or Drink,
I chose to use a the Birthday Cupcake design from their great selection of images.

I had some ideas as soon as I spied this calorie free delight.

First I printed this out 4 times on my white card stock. Then I fussy cut just the cupcake paper from 2 of the images. Next I scored the lines and accordion folded both of those cupcake paper images. After that, I glued one end to the other to make the paper longer. I colored the cupcake paper, a pinkish color and then attached each end over the base on the 3rd image. then I attached the center area to the base and now the cupcake paper looks like a real cupcake base.

Next to make the icing look somewhat realistic, I used a snow marker, and heated it and it puffed up and looks like icing - sort of.

After that I attached flat back pink pearls in the circle areas. For the candle I cut one out  and then cut a slit in the top of the cupcake and slid it in. I colored the flame and added glitter to add a little sparkle.

So here is the cupcake ready for the card.

Here is the cupcake on the card.
I used some pastel papers to make the card background

And here is a close up of the cupcake on the finished card.

This image was a lot of fun to use  and will be a cute Happy Birthday card for a child (or even a grown-up) I think!!

    Thankful Hearts

    Hello Everyone and welcome back.

Time for a new Crafty Creations Challenge

Crafty Creations Challenges always have great sponsors and the sponsor for this challenge (#302)
    is Fresh Brewed Designs

Crafty Creations Challenges last 2 weeks and the theme for this challenge is Give Thanks

Since we have the Thanksgiving holiday coming very soon,
I decided to use the Fresh Brewed Designs pumpkin image. It's #70 - Fall Pumpkin,
click here to check it out and/or order it.

    Let me show my card.

Those pumpkins I used on my card are the same image. I just changed the shape somewhat when I printed them out on my card stock.

Here is the original image right after I colored it. I sized this one at about 2"

And below is the second image.
To print my saved images, I use Word software and insert the saved digital image on the Word document. On this second image I made it larger, to do that I used the arrow in the bottom center and pulled the image downward instead of using the corner arrow. Using that corner arrow keeps the image size in perspective. I wanted this pumpkin to be taller and skinnier.

Let me share with you info on that center portion of the card, I used some corrugated cardboard  and pulled some of the paper off the front side to make it look distressed and colored with Pan Pastels. I then placed that corrugated piece on the card center.

I attached the pumpkins to that center panel.( I know this looks wet but it really isn't.)
For a little added texture I added a vine which is Boxwood twine and its bendable. Love it!!
