Thinking of You

Hello everyone.

How is your week going so far?? Great I hope.

The next Crafty Creations Challenge has begun
and you have til August 7th to get your project submitted.

Don't forget the theme is always Anything Goes.

The sponsor of this challenge is Beccy's Place and she has the nicest digi sets.

Prize -  1 set - winners choice.

If you are looking for something special, start at Beccy's Place.
All of her digi's are sold in sets and I love them because everything in the set goes together.

I decided to use an image from Beccy's Place in the Index of Freebies - Poppies

I used colored pencils and some gamsol to color and shade these beautiful poppies.
After I finished coloring I decided to give the flowers some dimension so I colored the flowers on another print and fussy cut them out and used a stylus to give the flowers some curves. Using that stylus also added so shine to the flowers.
I am sure it was because I was adding pressure in a swirling motion over the pencil lead.
Next, I popped the flowers up, right on top of the original print.

Here is a closer view to show what this looks like up close.

Those flowers look great in person. I love adding dimension to flowers on a card.
I think it makes the flowers come alive.

I sponged on some Old Paper ink to the edge of the label shape to break up that stark white.
Next, I added a sentiment and the card is completed.

I hope you've enjoyed this project and will link up with us for this challenge!
Remember, all of our challenges are Anything Goes.

I chose a darling train pull toy and it's perfect for a little boy. 'Cause little boys all seem to love trains. The image I am using is in the Precious Baby digital set

I decided to make my card really simple. I colored my train and used an oval die to cut it out. I mounted a pretty blue holographic paper under the train.I decided to add some smoke coming of the smokestack so I hand drew and cut the puffs of smoke, I popped them up using foam.

Those tickets were a perfect spot for the sentiment.

Merry Christmas - Late

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

The new year, 2018,  has begun. WOW!!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or whatever holiday you celebrate.

Since it is the beginning of a new year, it's time to get back into the crafting groove
and what better way to start it off, than with the Craft-Dee BowZ monthly challenge.

The sponsor this month is Beccy's Place.

Beccy's Place digi's are sold in sets and she has a great selection to choose from.

The digi I am using is called the Christmas Lantern.
I have had this digi for a while and I just love it. The flowers and the holly really accent this image.
I embossed the background and lightly rubbed a little gray ink to just highlight that embossed area.
I used the Merry Christmas sentiment, but Happy New Year would be appropriate as well.

I colored the lantern and flowers and then I printed another image and cut another holly section to use over the flower section.  I offset the flowers at the bottom of the lantern for added dimension. Next, I added flowers and more holly leaves to the top right to balance out the card.

The handmade bow is made using sheer ribbon.
Using my personal favorite ribbon to make the bow with.
I made a double loop bow.

And I used my Craft-Dee BowZ tool, to make my bow.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my project.
Hope you will link a project in the Craft-Dee BowZ monthly challenge.
Don’t forget the theme every month is always Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow.

Heaven and Nature Sing

Hello Everyone,

Do you know it's just 6 weeks til Christmas?  Whew, where has this year gone????? card

It's the 1st Tuesday of November and that means it's time for me share a Craft-Dee BowZ project

I'm in the Christmas mode so I want to share a card that is in the Christmas spirit.

Beccy's Place is the sponsor for the November challenge at Craft-Dee BowZ

The prize is 1 digital set
The challenge runs until Nov.29 so you have plenty of time to create something and enter it.

Since we are really in the Christmas season already, I decided to make a Christmas card and I decided to use a bird image. I love birds and this one really caught my eye.

This cutie is in the Baby Robin set
1 bird and 4 sentiments come in this set
and the bird can be used the year round.

I used colored pencils to color this bird. Gamsol was used to blend/shade. In my humble opinion, colored pencils used with gamsol offer a great way to blend/shade and to go from one color to another seamlessly. I feel I have more control with pencils and gamsol.

I decided to use just a 2 loop bow on this card.
Here's a closer look

If you struggle with making a bow, let me suggest the Craft-Dee BowZ bow making tool.  It can make a bow anywhere from 1" to 4" in size. The tool is handy, portable and it's a tool that is so easy to use. Besides the instructions that accompany the tool itself, there are online videos that make it easy to follow along.

To order your very own,
visit the Craft-Dee BowZ blog and the ordering spot is on the left sidebar.
These make great Christmas gifts, too.

Candy Canes

Hello Everyone

November 1, WOW!!! do you believe it!
Next month we will be in the midst of preparing for Christmas.

The November Challenge has started over at Craft-Dee BowZ.
So you have all month to submit a project
Theme - Anything Goes and include a Handmade Bow
Sponsor - Beccy's Place
Prize - 1 Stamp Set

With the holidays getting closer, I thought I'd make a tag and a small pillow box gift box
for my inspiration piece.

The pillow box was cut from an Accu-Cut die. I've had the die for years and comes in handy for a medium size gift box. I used white cardstock for the box and added a 2" strip of red CS and then stacked a 1" strip of designer paper on top. Next, I added a gold multi-loop bow to finish the box off.

Here is a closer look at the pillow box.

The tag - now that came together in a funny way.  A while ago I had cut out 3 different sizes of poinsettias on a red piece of cardstock for a different project and I saved the cutout piece. So, for this larger tag, I was looking around for something to use as a background. I spied that piece that I had already cut out and it was a great fit. I trimmed it up and added glitter in the cutout spaces. Finally, I added the candy cane image over the red background panel and used some of that gold sheer ribbon to use as the string on the tag.

Here is a closer view of the tag.

If you struggle with making a bow, let me suggest the Craft-Dee BowZ bow making tool.  It's easy to use and can make a bow anywhere from 1" to 4" in size. The tool is handy, portable and it's a tool that is easy to use. Besides the instructions that accompany the tool itself, there are online videos that make it easy to follow along.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my project.
I'd love to see you link a project in the Craft-Dee BowZ monthly challenge.

a different designer will post over on the Craft-Dee BowZ blog to inspire you!

I have the 1st Tuesday of the month, so stop back next Tuesday (November 7)
to see what I have made.

Birthday Wishes

Hi Everyone and welcome back
Its the first Tuesday of the month  so that means its my turn to post over at Craft-Dee BowZ

A really good friend of mine is celebrating her birthday today,
so the card I am showing you today is the card I made for her.

Since Beccy's Place it the sponsor over at Craft-Dee BowZ for April, I decided to use one of the images I have in my treasure trove of digital images.
(It's an oldie but a goodie, not available anymore)

I decided to use a floral image since we are in spring - it is spring isn't it??
It's still cooler here in N.KY but supposed to get warmer and wetter. Oh well its not snow. LOL

I love this floral sprig. I actually used 2 sprigs, one is flipped to give me a mirror image.
Then I arranged these to make it look like a really full bouquet.

That sentiment is a die cut,  I cut one in that light purple and I cut another in black.
Then I mounted the two in an off-set manner.

Here is a closer view of my bow.
I made 2 single loop bows, one a little larger than the other and stacked them.
I just love this look and its so easy to do.

If you are bow challenged, like I used to be,
order a Craft-Dee BowZ tool here and you will be an expert in no time.

Let me show you the inside of this card.

The flower is just a portion of the original flower sprig, I needed to make the inside look great as well.
