Thinking of You

Hello everyone!!!

Welcome to October!!! Now I think we will see a shift to the fall season and temps. I can't wait to see the leaves change and all the beautiful colors on the trees.

I took a break from making Christmas cards and made a fall card for an inspiration project for the start of the October Craft-Dee BowZ challenge.

Craft-Dee BowZ hosts a month-long challenge
and the theme is always "Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow"

The sponsor this month is

The prize will be 4 digital images
awarded to the winner

Let me share my card with you.

This image is perfect for the fall season. Leaves piled high in a wheelbarrow, a rake, and stacked pumpkins. I added a fence behind the image but, it's really hidden pretty much.
I also added some leaves to the card, just to jazz it up.

The bow - I made a triple loop stacked bow.
I found some plaid ribbon and used that to make my single loop bow for the bottom.  Then I used sheer ribbon and made two additional single loop bows and stacked them on top of each other and on top of the plaid bow.

Here is a closer view of the bow.

Three single loop bows stacked on top of each other.

My digital image is called
Pumpkins and Leaves
and available here

Since there was so little room on the front for a sentiment,
I added the sentiment to the inside

Make sure to visit Bugaboo for a great selection of digital images.
I am sure you will find an image that you will just love and be perfect for your project.

Untie The Ribbons

    Bump in the Night

    Hi There,
Welcome to October 1. Do you believe it. Another month has started. Unbelievable!!! This year is coming to a close very quickly.

Also since this is the 1st of the month, the October Craft-Dee BowZ challenge starts today. Join in the fun. The theme is always Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow. Submit a project, you never know, you may be the next winner of  25 yards is yummy ribbon.

Halloween will be here shortly and I have a few Halloween projects to share with you over the next week or so.

Craft-Dee BowZ will be having a blog hop starting on Thursday October 9-10, so join in and leave comments on the DT posts and you might win your very own Craft-Dee BowZ tool.

Today's project is a card that is perfect for Halloween and would look great on the front of a bag as a panel instead of being made into a card.

I used 2 different Halloween themed papers and some others that complimented those papers.

The bow came about in kind of a funny way. When I received my ribbon for October I received 3 sheer ribbon colors  all layered together and wound up in a circle. Not on a spool or anything. As I looked at the ribbons and the 3 colors that were sent,  I decided to use the Craft-Dee BowZ tool with all three ribbons layered one on top of the other. I went with a 3 loop bow and since I was using 3 layers of ribbon that resulted in 18 loops. And if that wasn't enough, I felt I needed to add an orange-ish colored ribbon to the mix. So I made another 3 loop bow with long tails in that orange color. I positioned the sheer ribbon bow on top of the orange ribbon bow. Using the long tails from that orange bow, I tied the bows together and then just tied a small bow on the top to give it a finished look. I think I could have made 2 loop bows  and still have gotten a really fluffy bow.

Check out that silver bony hand reaching out from under the bow. It's the perfect embellishment for this card.

Well I will post another Halloween card on October 7, since its my regular monthly Craft-Dee BowZ post. It's another halloween card and I think you will like it as well.

Thanks for stopping by today. See you soon.

Craft Dee BowZ Challenge for October

    Hi Everyone,
If you are looking for the Sparkle N Sprinkle Challenge and Reveal post click here.

I'm so glad you stopped by today.Welcome to my post for my project for the October Craft-Dee BowZ Challenge.

Since its October  are you decorating for Halloween? What a fun time for the kids, getting dressed up, carving pumpkins, eating candy!!! Oh yes, there are the Halloween costume parties for the grown-ups as well.

Since we are getting ready for Halloween, here is a cute card ready to be sent. Hey!!, wouldn't this make a cute Halloween party invitation!!!

This pumpkin is so cute and it's a favorite of mine. I decided to dress the card up with purple Prima flowers. Those sparkly leaves are made from vellum, colored with markers  and then I added glitter to the vein areas and  and I can't forget....there's the purple and black bow. I used 2 different ribbons and love how it turned out. That purple ribbon is really spectacular, it has glitter already on it, plus it's wired (my favorite kind of ribbon) so it really made a fabulous bow.

Here's a closer view of that bow. And I used my Craft-Dee BowZ to make it.

Just a glimpse of the sparkly leaf and some of those Prima Flowers that I layered with orange glitter added to the centers.

The Craft-Dee BowZ challenge for October has begun and it would be great to see your project over on their blog as an entry. And you can submit anything, doesn't need to be a Halloween project. The theme is always Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow.Click here to go over to the Craft-Dee BowZ blog and send us your submission.

I will be back tomorrow with my normal 1st Tuesday of the month post for Craft-Dee BowZ , one day later this month. Hope you stop back 'cause I have something really cute to show you.
